Geneva 2013: 2014 Audi RS Q3

2014 Audi RS Q3 Confirmed With 310 HP, Geneva Debut

Official details on the first-ever RS model to join the Audi SUV family were just released, confirming speculation that it will debut during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in early March.

“The RS Q3 transfers the performance philosophy of Audi to the compact SUV segment, thereby creating a new performance class,” said quattro managing director Franciscus van Meel.

Apart from confirming the car’s debut, Audi also verified that it will come with a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine — like the concept version seen last year. Unfortunately, output shrank to 50 hp to 310 for the production car, likely in the interest of saving fuel. Starting at 1,500 rpm, the engine also offers almost 310 lb-ft of torque all the way through 5,200 rpm.

That might seem like a disappointment, but Audi also claims the car can achieve “26.73 U.S. mpg.” That’s likely based on the European test cycle, which is much more generous than EPA estimates.

Love the front, but the rear should look more like the MKC.
Sides are nice, formal, and have a few cool touches while still showing a tempered restraint.
The interior is too bland. I like the steering wheel, and the seats look 'interesting', but not my cup of tea.

310hp & Torque! That sounds like fun. MKC should have more with the newer 2.3 boost.
I wonder what it weighs?

This is the target for the Lincoln MK C. Thats why the look of the Lincoln is very close to this car. I prefer, by far, the MK C.... I hope the powerplants will give it a good advantage over the european and asian competition.

Great opportunity to show the MKC at Geneva...........It wouldn't hurt to show at least an MKC with the high performance motor to get attention. Where are the Lincoln PR's when you need them?

Geneva??? bahhh.... the Lincoln executive board are very busy trying to build some MK Zs . Until now, they are not capable to do it... So, think in show another new vehicle in a world class Auto Show as Geneva is an imposible mission. I suspect that this beautiful crossover, the MK C, will not see the green ligth for production. Lincoln will be die by the end of the year if the sales continue like the first 2 months...
