Re: Ford/Lincoln May 2017 Sales

Good to see Lincoln back positive after a couple of slightly down months. And over 10,000 sold too, something they didn't do at all last year aside from December, which obviously always has inflated numbers. The new Navigator should give the brand a shot in the arm at the end of the year (and next year of course).

MKC continues to rise, while MKX would be down the whole year if it weren't for a big January. It'd be nice to see it push past the 3,000 level consistently. It's a great vehicle, I wonder why it isn't doing better. It'll be interesting to see what the new face will do for sales when it comes.

--

As for Ford, nice to see Edge bump up. Like MKX, its sales haven't been gaining traction for some reason either. I wonder why that is?

Explorer with a nice (random) bump. Trucks keep chugging along nicely.

Re: Ford/Lincoln May 2017 Sales

It's still really remarkable that Ford can hemorrhage car sales and offset that so successfully with F-Series. Good to see Explorer recover some of its lost ground this year. Escape dropped quite a bit for the month but at least Edge is up.

Mustang really bit the dust, but this is probably because of the new one coming soon.

I actually hadn't realized Ford was selling so many cars to rental agencies, but at least we can better keep track of that distribution with the new format.

I see incentive spending is going up at Ford as well, now at parity with GM which is probably driving some of those F-Series sales and why incentive spending is so high for the Big 3.

MKX is a good vehicle. Very handsome although I give the Edge, the edge in looks. :b

I still maintain that the only thing holding MKX back, and this goes for all lincolns, is that Lincoln has dropped off the radar for most shoppers because of the past lame models. As more new Lincolns hit the streets, it will put Lincoln back in the game when ppl see the cars in traffic and decide to visit a Lincoln dealership because they like what they see. I just wish Lincoln would euthanize Mkt so ppl don't see it in the showroom. (Or keep them out back)

Look at the Buick envision...its similar priced to mkc but it's sales are really good. And that's despite the China connection. But Buick is on ppls radar.

Nice May month for Ford and great to see Lincoln with a strong pulse, even with older products.

Every sub-$50,000 car on the market will have to answer to the Ford from now on, no matter what badge it brings to the table.
