It isn't "fully" retractable, if you've seen the videos. I'm not sure why they need 2 different antennas.......if in fact that's true.

Re: New Lincoln MKZ Video!

ARRGGGhhh lost post, re-typing...

^ I don't have any problem with the aerial antenna at all - at least in pix - just see it as Purely Functional...
I've had more problem with those "sharkfin" doohickies

I started out thinking that
-- it'd be a big improvement over the ugly cutlines in the roofs of coupecabrio/hard'verts (esp on light colored cars)
-- that the PanoRoof would be 2 panels which would slide back over a not-too-long/sloped rearwindow, giving (upto) a full opening, tho not have to be SPF1000 letting the driver still see thru all 3 layers ... probably have 2 layers of roof-shade, one translucent, one opaque
so
I'm not really happy with ANYthing
but
am too paranoid for a car without a full-metal roof anyway
(preferably armoured!)
guess I'll hafta wait for StarTrek's transparent aluminIum

By "standard" I was referring to the normal sunroof (a "standard" kind of sunroof) you would basically find on the majority of cars equipped with a sunroof.

As soon as I discovered that the pano-roof means that I can't get the power rear-sunshade, I decided that it wouldn't be an option for me. Especially not for an additional $1,500.

The guys at Lincoln claim it is. I would say it is 95% fully retractable.

It will be interesting to see how many people will be buying them with retractable glass roofs.

Re: New Lincoln MKZ Video!

Lincoln acts as if this no one in the industry has built a car with a fully retractable glass roof. They obviously don't remember the 911 Targa. If that idea was so great, MB, BMW, Bentley, Rolls-Royce would be doing it.

I think it is a great concept - but here in Florida, you have to be practical as well. I'm pretty sure that the pano-roof combined with a thin shade and the lack of a rear-sunshade won't come in too handy in the brutal summer-heat.

Re: New Lincoln MKZ Video!

I posted this video on another forum and their 'boldest' member said,
"Is it possible that my distaste up to now for the new MKZ is coming from a place more of misunderstanding?
Because this video makes the car look unique, elegant, slab-sided and clean, yet with drama... traits of the few truly classic Lincolns we can name...
...and a better phrase would be "utterly refined, modern, yet still an echo of past greatness"..."

That forum is definitely not GMI.
