Re: 2015 Lincoln Navigator spied for the first time!

I sincerely hope that Lincoln does not think as a certain poster does, and as a former Escalade owner I can emphatically assure you that fuel economy is never the sole purchasing factor for a vehicle in this class. In fact were one to desire a vehicle in this class, and fuel economy to be of utmost importance than only a light duty diesel would suffice.

Re: 2015 Lincoln Navigator spied for the first time!

And looking at Ford's premium truck sales volume that loves the performance and fuel economy (two great reasons, not just one like germ said, and lets not forget the green image too) of the turbo V6, not to mention the success of it's selected option, something few anticipated.....then I am pretty sure it would be right at home in a Navigator and Expedition too. In fact, I will bet on it.

Hery Germ, care to bet who sells more percentage wise, a GM large V8 in their SUV or a boosted V6 in Ford's?
Just look to their truck line for that answer son.

While I prefer names, I am not completely opposed to alpha numerics but they have to make some sense. The MK* names don't. Perhaps, if the designations conveyed a sense of where the models fall in the brands' hierarchy (3-series, 5-series, 7-series, etc.) or if they included numbers to express the displacement of the powerplant it might work. MKZ in my mind should be the last or top model, not the entry level one.

Buy American!
Buy Ford!
So say we all...

I don't think the current nomenclature was thought out very well..... I think Jose's idea makes much more sense.....and sounds better.

MKZ and MKC sound the same when you say them out loud.

Re: 2015 Lincoln Navigator spied for the first time!

Per Lincoln's past perhaps Roman numerals could be used to denote the model numbers?

MKIII
MKIV
MKV
MKVI

Today, I'm not sure the general public knows their roman numerals, unfortunately.

Using MK3 or Mark Z would be a safe bet, imo.
