Re: Ford January 2017 Sales Down 0.6% overall, Lincoln up 22.4%
Continental just short of 1.2k for the month when it appears everybody is down, still a very good showing! Of course it's still very new to the market so I'll still be interested to see how well it manages to hold those sales numbers as we move deeper into its first year.
All in all not much all that surprising given the market overall. The biggest problem areas are what you would expect it to be which is the oldest product on offer. Hard to be shocked that Fiesta and Focus sales are down as much as they are given they're tired and about to be replaced. The Fusion is a little tougher to swallow, but that mid-size segment is cut throat and the Fusion's supermodel looks aren't enough to prop it up now that everybody and their grandmother owns one!
Interestingly Lincoln is quite the bright spot! Four of the five ongoing models are all up, with only the Navigator being down slightly. The MKS is dead, the MKT is dead though nobody remembered to tell it, and the Navigator will be replaced by years end. For all my bitching about their glacial pace and product choices over the years they're doing good things and their sales are proving Ford to be right, and me wroo, err, wrooooooo, *cough* wrooooooo.... not 100% correct.
