Fordís 2.0L Ecoboost cunning!?!
In the 2013 Ford Edge, Explorer & Taurus, the 2.0L Ecoboost commands a USD 995.00 premium above the Ti-VCT 3.5L V6 Engine, whereas in the 2013 MKZ, the Ti-VCT 3.7L V6 Engine is a USD 1,230.00 option over the standard 2.0L Ecoboost. Thatís like saying the 3.7L is USD 2,225.00 more expensive than the 3.5L. As far as I know, the Ti-VCT 3.5L & 3.7L are virtually identical except for the obvious 0.2L displacement.
I see it like this; Lets rip-off lower budget minded Ford brand customers looking to save money on fuel consumption by charging them more for the more fuel efficient 2.0L Ecoboost engine (on top of the standard Ti-VCT V6), and, rip-off higher budget Lincoln customers looking for more power in their premium purchase by charging them more for the more Ti-VCT V6 engine (on top of the standard 2.0L Ecoboost). Both cases have the same engine choices, but it means more money to Ford.
