Changan Ford Opens Fifth Factory in China
China.org

The first Ford Focus rolled off a production line in northeast China's Heilongjiang province on Wednesday.

The factory, in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang, has an annual production capacity of 200,000 and is Changan Ford's fifth in the country.

Together with the factory, 11 automobile component plants have opened in Harbin.

The new Ford Focus was launched in 2015 and last year sales of the vehicle neared 220,000 in China.

The other four factories of Changan Ford have a combined production capacity of 1.4 million.

So Much food for thought in those few sentences ^:thumb:
...The other four factories of Changan Ford have a combined production capacity of 1.4 million.
average = 350,000 ...even if a couple have 2 lines, that's still more than:
The factory, in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang, has an annual production capacity of 200,000 and is Changan Ford's fifth in the country....
so this new one is PLANNED to underperform??
...The new Ford Focus was launched in 2015 and last year sales of the vehicle neared 220,000 in China...
so the new factory canNOT supply demand? wtHeck?
...Together with the factory, 11 automobile component plants have opened in Harbin...
sounds like my favorite reason for RotW Rangers NOT going to the new T7 architecture Simultaneously with MAP = separate supply chains!
in addition to separate factories (4 per BON) that need to spread their upgrade costs over fiscal years

Don't you think delaying the launch of the Ranger for the rest of the world (its most important markets which includes Asia-Pacific), is like saying Ford will delay the new Fiesta's launch in Europe?

Things to remember, the Ranger is one of the models responsible for Ford's growth in Asia-Pacific and I believe several other markets. In these markets the Ranger is Ford's only pickup, it's basically what the F150 is to the US market (where mid-size pickups have a much smaller market share). Ford Australia is the one developing the US-spec Ranger.

The 2016 Ford Taurus stands on a new platform called 'ABB', it will be manufactured in China by the long-running Changan-Ford joint venture.
imho, "ABB Robotics" has got to be where that codename comes from for the China-Taurus(aka D568C) ... no?
:nerd:
