2014 Ford Everest SUV Rendering

2014 Ford Everest SUV Rendering

For those of you who didn't know this, the Ford Everest is a midsize SUV produced by Ford on the same platform as the Ranger pickup truck, which in turn has been derived from Mazda B-Series pickups.

In 2011, Ford launched a brand new Ranger (the T6). It was unveiled at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney and comes with its own Ford architecture. Produced in South Africa, Argentina and Thailand, it's available in 180 market, including parts of Europe.

This is what a new Everest SUV would look like if it was based on the same architecture as the T6 Ranger pickup. These renderings created by Theophilus Chin show a reliable workhorse that could be powered by either a 2.5L Duratec (L5-VE) petrol engine or a 2.2L Duratorq TDCi diesel. It could be available with both 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains as well as a choice between two manual and one automatic gearbox.

Re: 2014 Ford Everest SUV Rendering

I doubt the rear window design of the new Everest will be that bland/generic.

Here's the current Everest SUV (based on the previous Mazda-based Ranger sold outside America)...

The body of this aging Everest looks even newer than the 2014 Everest rendering. Lol

That must have been done by the same guy who did a rendering of the next Expedition, neither one show even the slightest imagination, just a wagon version of the donar truck. It is safe to say given Ford's current lineup along with the Atlas concept that they are going to be far more aggressive that those two snoozer chops.

Re: 2014 Ford Everest SUV Rendering

Effectively most SUVs are station wagons based on truck chassis. Practically all of them look like station wagons of some stripe or other. The only reason this is not so obvious is that most cars today lack the length at the rear that cars had in the '60s and '70s, so newer station wagons don't look quite as long behind the rear wheels as their ancestors did. I could see Ford selling these here, and a lot of them. Someone at Ford would be doing a facepalm over the success of a SUV that basically looks like an evolution of the old Explorer.

Re: 2014 Ford Everest SUV Rendering

I have a feeling Ford won't be launching the all-new Everest any time this year because they just launched a stop-gap facelifted Everest.
