In the world of heavy-duty pickup trucks, the arrival of the redesigned 2008 Super Duty Fords is a big deal. Ford (F (http://stockmarket.businessweek.com/www/search.html?q=F)) work trucks—the F250, F350, and F450—are the market leaders, coveted not only by ranchers, plumbers, and contractors but horse, boat, and recreational-vehicle owners, as well. Ford says 90% of buyers of its Super Duty trucks end up towing something at one time or another.
Detroit has no Asian competition in heavy-duty trucks, which is one of the market's unique features. Ford's smaller, lighter F150 pickup (http://www.businessweek.com/autos/content/apr2006/bw20060419_268014.htm) faces tough new rivals such as the redesigned Toyota (TM (http://stockmarket.businessweek.com/www/search.html?q=TM)) Tundra, (http://www.businessweek.com/autos/content/jan2007/bw20070130_509719.htm) the Nissan (NSANY (http://stockmarket.businessweek.com/www/search.html?q=NSANY)) Titan, (http://www.businessweek.com/autos/content/apr2006/bw20060412_955746.htm) and the Honda (HMC (http://stockmarket.businessweek.com/www/search.html?q=HMC)) Ridgeline (http://www.businessweek.com/autos/content/apr2006/bw20060426_852378.htm).

It seemed to me like a pretty positive review, so why only a 3.5/5? Because the gas milage is not good? It's a HD truck, so of course it won't be that great! Anyways, the new Superduties are great trucks and look alot better than the 2006 version and better than the HD GM trucks. One thing that the author did not mention was the fact that Ford put 10 million miles of testing on these trucks and I am sure that the majority of those miles were in the diesel powered trucks. Ford has another great product and I am pretty sure that it will sell.

I can't wait for one too. I hope MT is the magazine that does it first.

I wasn't either until a few months ago. I subscribed to Car and Driver for a long time and then I started with MT. There is just so much more stuff in the MT issues compared to Car and Driver, but both are good magazines.
