Thanks Sobe I'm glad I made your day. :D Believe me it made my day to.

Do you Sobe or anyone else have information on what the fuel milage will be for the 2010 Milan Hybrid and Fusion Hybrid.

I don't have any info yet but in THIS THREAD (http://fomoconews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2597&highlight=frugal), wingsnut says that the Fusion/Milan Hybrid will deliver a significantly better fuel economy that the Camry Hybrid which has a combined fuel economy of 34 MPG.

^^^ Great news thanks Sobe. ^^^ The new Milan and Fusion Hybrids are by far better looking than the Camry Hybrid and with better fuel mileage Ford shouldn't have problem outselling the Camry Hybrid. But we all know how people are they still believe Toyota is the best.

[QUOTE=MERCURYSABLE08;18056.........Ford shouldn't have problem outselling the Camry Hybrid. But we all know how people are they still believe Toyota is the best.[/QUOTE]

I agree that Ford would be able to outsell the Camry hybrid were they able to get enough hybrid components. However, I am pretty sure that Ford has already announced that they will be limited to the 20K per year just like they are on the Escape/Mariner/Tribute hybrids. This is why Ford is predicting the doubling of their hybrid sales in 2009.

However, with fuel prices dropping some of the other manufacturers that are in line ahead of Ford (i.e. toyota) for hybrid components may not need their entire allocation and this may allow Ford to move a few more units.

But with the vast improvement in the standard engine lineup and the class leading fuel economy they may be hard pressed to meet demand for the non-hybrid units much less any additional hybrids. Assuming the overall market for autos improves considerably from it's present state.

In a 15 million unit a year environment I think the new Milan, Fusion, MKZ sales would max out Hermisolla with much less than 10% fleet. These updates look to be that good to me. Not to mention these cars have a 4 year reputation of best in class quality. And now best in class fuel efficiency. Retail share should improve at the very least no matter what the overall market turns out to be.

just speculation:
but someone elsewhere divided that 700 mile range by the 17.5 gallon fueltank of the current CD3 sedans = 40mpg

my speculation:
if the gastank was reduced in size to make room for batteries... http://home.surfree.com/~pauld/biggrin.gif

oops/edit
I'm so excited by getting to see the Milan & Fusion earlier than expected
forgot to say, "this is so exciting!!!"

That would be awesome if the Milan and Fusion Hybrids achieved 40 MPG.

I agree 2b2 this is very exciting.

40 mpg has been the goal all along for the Cd3 hybrids

I would love to see a Milan Coupe as well I think it would be a hot seller for Mercury. I think the Milan would look great as a convertible but that's just my opinion.

A Mondeo Coupe has been talked about for the my13 year when the Fusion and Mondeo move into one. So my guess we will get it if its done.

I really like what they've done. I would love to see this is dark red, deep blue, and jaguar green. The rear lights are nice, looks like yellow between the red so you kinda see the Mercury logo when braking. The front looks fresh and just enough chrome to give it a formal look without overkill. I like the side turn signals too. With these looks and better MPG, Milan should pick up some sales volume.

There were plans for a Fusion/Milan coupe a couple of years ago. Those plans were shelved. If Mondeo gets a coupe ...

Coupe version of the Camry and Accord do not really sell that well.

Actually, I was surprised they brought out the 2 door Focus. I thought we would not see one until C170.

new pix of a black Milan in daylight:
LeftlaneNews - 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid spied with no camo! (http://www.leftlanenews.com/mercury-milan-hybrid.html)

Just one day after Ford officially unveiled its all-new Fusion, our spy photographers have spotted its twin — the Mercury Milan — without any camouflage! Moreover, this particular model is the greenest Milan, the Milan Hybrid....

The headlights need to be wider and the grille needs to shrink a tad bit. Overall, I'd give it a B-....But it still looks pretty good.

Great find 2b2! :D I think it looks even better in black I can't see why this wouldn't be a huge success for Mercury. The only thing I do not like about it are those rims they are awful looking in my opinion but the rest of the car looks awesome.

If anyone else...

...On a side note, I hate LLN's new picture format....I'm glad they got rid of the separate page photos thing they started to do after redesigning the website, but now you can only see the first 3 (of in this case 8) pictures, as they pop up in a window with the article page darkened in the background. Has anybody else figured out how to see the rest of those images?

using Firefox instead of IE, I found links to 4 of the pix

Thanks 2b2 for the extra pictures. I tried for a long time to find the other pictures. Kind of a screwed up site if you can't access them with the most common internet browser (Microsoft).

B- ??? you are severe. But the beauty is on the spector's eyes. For me , is a A-. Maybe the rear end is a weakess point of this car. The front end is amazing!

There are two things about the front end that don't appeal to me. One is the headlight shape (which I have never been a fan of). Much rather prefer the ones on the new Fusion Sport. The other is that there is too much surface area under the headlights on the bottom right and left corners. Again, if there were some openings there like the new Fusion Sport, it would look a lot less massive in that area. If you took the front end from the new Fusion Sport but used the grill from the new Milan, I think that would be an awesome combination.

The rear works for me just fine.

Quite the opposite for me! I love the rear end. I have to say, the front is a nice evolution from the 1st gen Milan but I feel that the side profile does not match the new front end. Looking at the front end from several pictures has given me a higher satisfaction to it than when I first posted that message, but the modern new front look unfortunatly couldn't translate to the side profile. The 7th pic from the Leftlane news pictures has changed my mind...I'd give it a straight B+.

Anyone know how different the interior will be over the Fusion?

I am loving the new milan, front and back! Now that they are doing it in Ice Blue with an available V-6 E-85 engine, it is truly my dream car! The 2010 order guide is out at The Mustange Source Forum of all places!

Too bad I am moving in a month and losing my job. At least it's nice to know my dream car is out there!!

Some interesting things I noted in the Fusion Order Guide (and assume are also available in the Milan)

Manual Transmission only available on S and SE
Remote Start (first time from the factory)
110V outlet on Hybrid
17" Wheel on SE, SEL, Sport and Hybrid

Personally, I don't like those huge wheel and 50 series tires. They give a very poor ride on anything except a perfectly smooth asphalt road.

The "option" list is almost non existent ! Someone will have to explain what's the big deal with the optional "White Platinum Tri-Coat Metallic Paint".

Well, I can't really explain the big deal but I can give you the reason I like it very much and the reason is because it just a very beautiful color especially when the sun shine hits it just right.

Also my Mountaineer is painted Cashmere Tri-Coat which I think is pretty much what White Chocolate and White Platinum Tri-Coat is. I think Mercury should offer White Platinum Tri-Coat on ever model. I think that a fully loaded Grand Marquis would be beautiful in White Platinum Tri-Coat.

It would also be nice if the Tri-Coat paints were just a Mercury/Lincoln Exclusive but that's just my opinion.

intrepid BON-member, BORG (http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27929) just posted 3 pix of the new 2010 Milan taken at Fomoco World Headquarters - probably WITH official approval (imho) since they reveal soooo little we don't already know...
...but if your weather is as dismal as mine & your day needs brightening

last 3 pix in BORG's personal Milan gallery (http://www.mikekukielka.com/gallery/v/2010+Mercury+Milan/)
each = only 640x480

^^Great pix 2b2 thanks for posting. Although I can really tell much from the interior pic it looks to me though as the Milan's interior as lost some of it's upscale touches but it's really not the best pic to judge from.
