Dearborn, Michigan - Ford has announced a new Web site that introduces consumers to Sync, a new communications and entertainment system developed by Ford and Microsoft. The system will debut on select Ford and Lincoln vehicles in the fall of 2007; the site is available at http://www.syncmyride.com/

The hands-free wireless system enables drivers to control cell phones and MP3 players, using wheel-mounted controls, radio controls, or verbal commands. Sync users can make and receive cell phone calls, read text messages aloud, send text replies from a list of preprogrammed messages, and access songs from iPods or MP3 players by artist, album, title, genre or playlist. The system won the cnet.com People's Voice award at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show.

The Sync system sounds like a cool option for cars. Glad to see it is only offered in the Ford (not Toyota, Honda etc) cars. It might help bring in some new buyers.
