Starting in the 2011 model-year potential owners of Fordís off-roading kingpin will be able to select from new options, including a SuperCrew cab configuration. The F-150 SVT Raptor launched last year with only one cab configuration- extended cab. For 2011 Ford has made the Raptor available in four-door, crew cab configuration for owners that need more passenger space. Additionally Ford has added new features and a new standard engine to keep things fresh.

In 2010 Fordís 6.2-liter V8 was optional on the SVT Raptor with the very familiar 5.4-liter V8 as the standard fare. For 2011 Ford is dropping the 5.4-liter engine from the entire lineup, so the 411 horsepower 6.2-liter is now the only engine offered in the Raptor. The engine is paired with a SelectShift automatic transmission with manual mode.

Additionally the 2011 Raptor is gaining some new technology, including a standard 4.2Ē LCD display. The new display will reside in the instrument gauges and house information specific to the Raptor. This same technology is used on Fordís Super Duty trucks. Through the screen owners can control various aspects of the truck, including different off-road modes.

Ford has also added a new suite of exterior graphics to the Raptorís option list for 2011. The additions include new matte black accents that run along the hood, which Ford claims was inspired by off-road racing Ford Broncos. 2011 also brings a new exterior color, Ingot Silver Metallic.

Dealerships can start taking orders for the 2011 F-150 SVT Raptor today. Ford states the trucks will start arriving at dealerships later this year.

Fordís awesome off-roader gains two real doors, drops its base engine, and picks up a few new toys. Weíve been enamored with the F-150 SVT Raptor ever since Ford unveiled the truck nearly two years ago. The off-road capability, toughness, and all-round bad-ass-ness quickly made the Raptor a C/D favorite. Itís clear we werenít the only [...] Related posts:

awesome, glad to see they are keeping up with the Raptor and not letting it get stale... but then again how COULD this truck get stale?

Like the Wrangler Unlimited, I expect the SuperCrew to be the better-selling model, by a substantial margin.
