Beginning in 2015, Lincoln vehicles may be built and sold in China for the first time since 2005, if recent industry whisperings prove to be accurate.

According to CarNewsChina, rumors circulating in the Chinese media suggest that Lincolns will be produced in China under Ford’s existing joint venture with Chang’an Auto. The joint venture is currently working on a new factory in the city of Hangzhou in Jiangsu Province; Lincoln production will reportedly begin when the plant opens in 2015.

imho 2015 is a very "interesting" year for this - just after the nextgen Mustang comes out :toetap:
note: remembering the Fusion and Mustang will be built in the same factory here, FlatRock...

Maybe now we could see a long wheelbase MKZ.

Lincoln would have to have RWD models. I don't think China would care for FWD Lincolns.

They buy FWD Buick's, and it would help Lincoln get the cash it needs to make a RWD vehicle.
Added sales would help Lincoln cause.

imho there are 2 main differences about the kind of cars for the China market
- they need great rearseat room for the "potentates"being DRIVEN around
- the Mfgs are more likely to LISTEN to China's customers (than us) cuz the Mfgs aren't pre-convinced that they already know everything better than their customers
