agree, the MKZ should have a coupe and a wagon versión like the CTS, I like the CTS wagon and I think Max Wolff design it, at least the CTS-V wagon....so he know how to design a sexy wagon, let him do it

I am not a fan of the MKT either, but they do need a car for the livery cab market, so I don't think we will see it go away, and right now I believe that is the role of the MKT in their eyes

That concept C they introduced several years ago was awful.

I'm just kinda 'shuffling' these ideas
- cabrio/hard'vert on the LincStang
- sporty Electric/Energi on the Grand C-Max's longer-yet-compact wheelbase = perfect storm of right-sizing between the ELR/Volt & the Tesla S ...development practically already Done
I really believe Lincoln should aim for being the Lux Brand that becomes the default choice for sizes between BMW icon the (still sorta)compact 3-series and MB's über-icon the S-class
+ killing them both in the main CuvSuv categories
...hoping my MKE could be in production as soon as FLincMoCo gets serious

the MKT gets ditched/replaced by bracketing its slot with the AllNew Navi and a just-slightly smaller-than-T Aviator
...thinking cy2015/2016my for at least one of them (ie the same year the LincStang comes out)

TY for the replies but
let me start by asking you two to think of 2 or 3 vehicles you each think Lincoln needs that aren't announced yet (tho there may have been indications that they're already in the works)
and
then prioritize them with your 2-seater

mine:
• pair of LincStangs = sportsedan & a coupe-cabrio(at least 2+2)
• an MKE/E, Energi/Electric somewhere on the Tesla-ELR spectrum (5 adults)
• a true flagship sedan
yeah I cheated - imho a 2-seater is won't sell enough to pay-go

Good question, Obviously Lincoln still has a lot to do, and I think what you have mentioned should all be on the to do list. Here is my list of things (by priority) I think they need to do (and not do):
1. LincStang: Develop a coupe and sedan version based on the new Mustang. I believe they need that high performance/ sporty sedan coupe to compete with the big boys. For me this is by far the most important next step.

2. Fix or re-launch the MKS: For me this has the look and feel of a rebadged Taurus. In a perfect world I would say they improve on the design in the short term- and then long-term build that luxury sedan you speak of from the ground up to replace it.

3. Focus CC/ST: I think Lincoln needs to get sportier. An relatively inexpensive luxury coupe based on the Ford CC (with the performance of the Focus ST- which is a fun little car to drive imo). Since Ford never launched the Focus CC in the US, I think it would avoid the look and feel of a rebadged Focus. One important issue for me here. No hatchback!!! 5. I really don’t like the MKZ coupe. What is the point? It’s not sportier looking than the 4 door version. the coupe concept should be covered by the LincStang.

6. Update and rebrand the Navigator. If they are going with “MK” than they need to do it for all their vehicles. In my opinion one of the little things that make BMW successful is that all their cars have the same look and feel to some extent (same grill similar brand names, etc.)

7. No Aviator: Lincoln already has 4 SUVs in their lineup. While I liked the Aviator, they just don’t need a 5th.

It is unfortunate, Ford and James Bond actually share a good amount of cinema history together.
Most of the villains from the Sean Connery era rode around in 60s Lincoln Continentals
In "Goldfinger" Tilly Masterson has a 64 Mustang Convertible
Also James Bond's wife to be in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" Drove a Mercury Cougar
In "Diamonds Are Forever" Connery drives a Mustang Mach 1 in a chase sequence around Las Vegas
In "Licence to Kill" Timothy Dalton in the beginning part of the movie is seen driving around Miami in a Lincoln Mark VII
Then everyone pretty much knows about the 3 movie deal with Ford starting with "Die Another Day" where they went Ford crazy: Ford Fairlane, Ford Thunderbird, Jaguar XKR, Ford GT etc etc, in "Casino Royale" the new at the time Ford Mondeo had its debut. In "Quantum of Solace" you can see a Ford Edge and Ford Ka.

Will we see them strike a deal again? I don't think so at all in the near future, I don't see any cars in their lineup that is truly exotic for a James Bond Movie but who knows maybe they will surprise again.

I like the way you think 'steffy44', I had completely forgotten about the Focus CC. Hmmm A hardtop convertible just might do the trick and make a bold statement for Lincoln. RWD of course...
