The Tired old Crown Victoria is dying in about a year's time, and Ford has indicated its not giving up on the rear-wheel-drive police car market. In fact, the automaker has revealed it would launch such a vehicle in 2011, making sure that there is competition for the revived RWD Chevrolet Caprice.
Our Member MonaroSS has posted this image, and we think it might be an indication of what a North American Engineered RWD police interceptor might look like. What do you think?Got Exclusive News or Exclusive car pictures? email me or post them here with Title "Fomoconews Exclusive: .....

Tell where it says Ford isn't giving up on the RWD police car market. Ford just said they have a new Police Interceptor coming with no specs what-so-ever. I'm with Topgun on this one.

Re: Speculation: Ford RWD Police Interceptor
I have seen several reports which say it will be some sort of update on the current Fleet King, still keeping RWD..
But who knows.
Ford still has to think of who is going to replace limo queen Town Car...
I think we might see Mustang components somewhere. What other Vehicles does Ford build in the Mustang factory anyways? If non, it could be the only plant in North America that is not flexible.

Re: Speculation: Ford RWD Police Interceptor
Not going to happen. Even if it was Mustang based, it wouldnt share one bit of sheetmetal for fear that it would degrade the Mustang.

The Panther platform is dead after the 2011MY. I can confirm that.
The Mustang is built in the Auto Alliance plant in Flat Rock, MI, where the Mazda 6 is also built.-2003 Crown Vic P71

Re: Speculation: Ford RWD Police Interceptor
Let's hope the new Police Interceptor stays RWD .
Oh regarding the picture of the 4 door Mustang , it would be a great idea to build a 4 door Cougar based on the current Mustang chassis (S-197) .=========================================

Re: Speculation: Ford RWD Police Interceptor
How would you hide a Interceptor like sedan for testing in order for a '11 release? Or would something like that be just a daydream?
