some very pretty designs
not at all sure if they're too extreme or not extreme enough

tho I'm more interested in how we get from now to then

here's a link to more pix than showed up for me in slideshow which popped-up

The front ends on some of them were too extreme but I liked the overall shapes some of them had. This picture below I found on Flickr resembles the 1940's Continentals.

been having lots of fun this evening downloading and enlarging &
yeah, lots of interesting ideas tho not sure any one model "has it all"
+
see a lot of similarity where the members of the class were obviously influenced by the teacher or eachother
&
kinda disappointing that so many look like v12,v16...v64? candidates
would have loved to see some C-segment cars

The designs need refinement, but i did like some of the side profiles.

I doubt that's what cars are going to look like in 2018-2025. The designs didn't look luxurious nor did they have craftmanship and detail.

wanted to post a crossreference to the

think the major problem I have with many of the models is just that the students are trying too hard to fit a lot of styling onto every available sq. inch
(see Mr.Horbury's styling 'sampler', the MKR)
and
that if they had the opportunity to do a full-scale clay buck,
think they'd start eliminating and toning-down

inspired by the Cadillac RIA (Revitalization in Action),
esp. Heath Hilliard's, commodore88 @ GMI, Fleetwood Concept sketches
a simple chop
sticking the top of the Italdesign/Giugiaro Brivido Concept
on the MKZ Concept's bottom:

What If
they brought out a NG-Mustang co-platformed Lincoln RWD coupe-cabrio with my imagined 700hp 5.0v8-EB + little electrics up front to fill that rôle BEFORE the Mustang debut (April'14)
and then
later brought out "regular" powered versions along with a (sport)sedan version?

thinking of a way that timing alone could provide a halo car/trim within the regular lineup instead of building a "folly" like another GT
(imho it should be easy to go a year-fraction without Mustang production while starting off the nextgen with the Lincoln - Mustang sales should be dismal anyway as word spreads about the new model's intro date)

imho Lincoln's current assortment is a bit BORING - not horrible just too much of the same thing with very slight differences ...from the 2013 MKS OrderGuide:

and imho they seem to NEED help...

It seems that ford gets the unique rims while Lincoln gets the boring uninspired rims. Poor Lincoln the lost brand searching for its roots. How Ford truly mismanaged their luxury brands living them with a brand on life support.
Please let the 2013 MKZ be sign of a better Lincoln lineup to come.

now I'm pondering that^ and adding in some ultra-light/sprint/rallye characteristics
prolley along with a bit of electric-assist along with some of the "Small Mercs Theorem";
maybe all 4cyls (which imho are WRONG for Lincoln)...

re: engines for Lincoln
in addition to the 2.7 v6, n/a & EB
it occurred to me that 270 cu inches = 4.426 liters
which might make an interesting exclusive v8 for Lincoln, n/a AND EB!!!!!
thinking those 2 engines could take care of most of Lincoln's needs!

to tie this with previous posts,

and identify at least a pair of 27 year olds as a TARGET CUSTOMER!?!

Mercury is a nice name and always thought it should go on a sleek lux sports car, but the problem ford likes MK names.
Hope the V6 engine for Lincoln lives up to expectations.
