^ Jose, it wouldn't surprise me if a new Navigator used some Raptor-tech, sorta in a go-anywhere/nothing-can-stop-it "backgorund" in commercials
but along with aluminum construction, think they'll really hammer-home the luxury aspects

    &
    new "MKZ" commercial showing...

    Question Re: Mission: LINCOLN!

My Lincoln lineup. I don't know much about Ford powertrains, buuuut I'll use some of what's been posted here.

    Powertrains
    • 2.0 EcoBoost – 200
    • 2.7 EcoBoost – 350
    • 2.7 V6 – 230
    • 2.7 Hybrid – 260
    • 3.5 EcoBoost – 400
    • 3.7 V6 – 300
    • 3.7 Hybrid – 320
    • 5.0 EcoBoost – 600
    • 5.0 V8 – 450
    • 5.0 Hybrid – 480

Lincoln would not be a single lineup of vehicles. Rather, it would be broken down into three series.

    Continental series

The Continental series vehicles are not build to be the most powerful or largest vehicles; they are, rather, built to be the most luxurious vehicles in their respective segments at compelling prices.

    Full-Size
    IX Sedan
    X Coupe
    VII (Navigator)

IX:$60,000 - $120,000; The Continental IX sedan is Lincoln's ultimate flagship sedan.
    5.0H, 3.5EB, 3.7H

    Competitors: S-Class, LTS, A8, XJ, 7-series

    IX:$80,000 - $130,000; The Continental X coupe is Lincoln's flagship luxury coupe.
    5.0H, 3.5EB, 3.7H

    Competitors: CL, ?

IX:$65,000 - $90,000; The Continental VII SUV is Lincoln's ultimate SUV.
    5.0H, 3.5EB, 3.7H

    Competitors: Escalade, GL, Range Rover

    MK series

The MK series is a line of significantly more mass-market vehicles than those of the Continental series. The MK-series line offers luxury alternatives for competitive prices.

    Full-Size
    MKS
    MKT

    MKS:$45,000 - $70,000; The MKS is Lincoln's full-size sedan.
    3.5EB, 2.7EB, 3.7H, 2.7H

    Competitors: Equus?, RLX?, ?

    MKT:$50,000 - $75,000; The MKT is Lincoln's full-size crossover.
    3.5EB, 2.7EB, 3.7H, 2.7H

    Competitors: Enclave, Q7, JX

    Midsize
    MKZ
    MKX

    MKZ:$35,000 - $60,000; The MKZ is Lincoln's midsize sedan.
    2.7EB, 3.7 V6, 2.7 V6, 2.7H

    Competitors: CTS, A6, 5-series, E-Class, GS, TL

    MKX:$40,000 - $65,000; The MKX is Lincoln's midsize crossover.
    2.7EB, 3.7 V6, 2.7 V6, 2.7H

Competitors: SRX, X5, FX, RX, M-Class, MDX

    Compact
    MKC

    MKC:$30,000 - $55,000; The MKC is Lincoln's compact crossover.
    3.7 V6, 2.7H, 2.0EB

    Competitors: Q5, X3, GLK, RDX

LS series

The LS series is the Luxury Sport series. It marries state-of-the-art performance and luxury together and brings them to the Lincoln brand.

    Performance
    VIII
    IV

    VIII:$90,000 - $165,000; The LS VIII is Lincoln's flagship, mid-engine performance coupe.
    5.0EB

    Competitors: R8, SLS AMG, i8

IV:$45,000 - $70,000; The LS IV is Lincoln's compact, Mustang co-platformed performance coupe.
    3.5EB

    Competitors: ATS-V, M3, C63 AMG, TT RS

There is something missing from this... and that'd be a Town Car.

    Specialty
    Town Car

Town Car:$55,000; The Town Car is Lincoln's fleet-only livery sedan offering.
    2.7EB

Competitors: XTS (or my hypothetical fleet-specific RWD Cadillac), the rest...

^ this was a pleasant surprise, sfbreh
I have tons of agreement &but want to ponder a number of original ideas you've presented.

FoMoCo engines are easier to understand than GM 's (imho )
but I posted an new EB prediction chart here
    &
when you have time & interest (if you haven't seen it already), I'd appreciate fresh feedback on the 3 tiers of models in the first post.

    Re: Mission: LINCOLN!

Saw this posted on wikipedia under Lincoln Navigator. NOTE there is no citation so take this for what it is:
"The next generation Lincoln Navigator will not be a repackaged Ford Expedition as the previous generations were. The new Navigator will be designed by Lincolns new design team that designed the new 2013 MKZ. It will be completely new, it will feature new engines (5.0, 3.5 Ecoboost and/or 6.2) new interior and exterior and performance upgrades. The new Navigator will be introduced in 2013 as a 2014 model year along with a new compact crossover. Ford hopes that sales will increase to 32,000 sales a year, around the same as the Cadillac Escalade"

Some of it is true like being designed in the new studio but things I have to question is debuting this year? and 32k sales a year?

If you see it on Wikipedia it must be true!

I don't expect much different from the frame down, but am hopeful that the body and interior will be as different from the Ford as the MKC is from the Escape!

    Re: Mission: LINCOLN!

I guess I'll do this since I finally have enough time to ponder this and edit my post as I go along. I like to keep it somewhat realistic and relatively in line with Ford's platforms and such.

First, there will be distinction between FWD and RWD models. FWD will keep the MK naming scheme while RWD will "keep" the normal names.

    Crossovers/SUVs

We'll start with the MKC. Nothing will change from concept form. Engine choices will be the following:
    -2.0 Ecoboost 250hp
    -3.7 Duratec 325hp
    -1.6 or 2.0 hybrid 200-225hp
    Price starts at $32,995

    MKX
    -Will move the Fusion's platform.
-Size will increase slightly so it's not in the MKC's size range
    -2.0 Ecoboost 250hp
    -3.7 Duratec 325hp
    -2.0 hybrid 225hp
    Price starts at $39,995

    MKT
Moves to stretched Fusion AKA Taurus platform
    -3.7 Duratec 325hp
    -3.5 Ecoboost 390hp
    -3.5 hybrid 310hp
    Price starts at $46,995

    Navigator
-Becomes a LR competitor with true off road credentials
-a SWB version similar in size to Grand Cherokee (thanks to atvman for the idea )
    -LWB version continues
    -3.5 Ecoboost 390hp
    -5.0 Coyote 420hp
Price starts at $59,995, $62,995 for standard model, $65,995 for LWB version

Now for what I care about
    Cars
    MKZ
    -Already on sale
    -3.5 Ecoboost added, 390hp

    Town Car
-Rides on a new RWD platform
    -115 inch wheelbase
    -210 inches long
    -3.7 Duratec 325hp
    -5.0 Coyote 444hp (hint hint ;) )
-For people like me (in the future of course ) who want a fullsize car but don't want to pay "flagship" prices
    Price starts at $49,995

    Continental
    -BOF
    -Rides on Navigator platform
    -125 inch wheelbase
    -225 inches long
    -5.0 hybrid 400hp
    -5.0 Coyote 420hp
    -5.8 Modular 600hp
    Price starts at $79,995

    Mark IX
    Rides on new Mustang platform
    -105 inch wheelbase
    -195 inches long
    -3.7 Duratec 325hp
    -3.5 hybrid 310hp
    -5.0 Coyote 444hp
    -5.8 Modular 600hp
    Price starts at $54,995

    Some final notes
-AWD an option on all models
-Cartier returns on all RWD products
-Five wood veneer options, with chrome or carbon fibers substitutes

    Five leather options
    -black
    -white
-tan (think gen 3 Taurus SHO "peanut butter" leather) edit* It's still used on the Mustang, look for saddle leather on build & price
    -dark purple
-dark brown (see brown leather on Audi A8 build & price)
-piping and two tone can be had in any combination

-All RWD models offer the option of a center console extending through the rear seat
-A new plant is built in Wixom, Michigan
    -No bespoke program

    Re: Mission: LINCOLN!

WOW aNother (& very different) lineup Again I'm gonna need time to consider but want to pose some questions, TaurusSHO...
    1. have you heard
about the new "Nano" v6's? The original 2.7 liter has been joined recently by a rumored 2.9
& that gen2 EB's can make upto 140hp per liter?
Imho whichever Lincoln gets, the EB would be appropriate for EVERY model...and more so than a 3.5/3.7 for the smaller ones
    2. do I have it right that the Navigator will have 3 wheelbases? Imho that'd be great if they could do it.
    3. I'd like to know more about your TownCar. It *is* the only sedan between the MKZ and your Continental sizewise, right? &
    4. a truck-based Continental?!? &
    5. your Mark IX is almost the exact length of the MKZ but on a shorter wlb. I wonder about that.
    6. Cartier but no Bespoke?

-Five wood veneer options, with chrome or carbon fibers substitutes
Agree! I'm looking thru other Lux mfgs' e-brochures
    & think (avoiding fancy names):
    dark brown
    light 'brown'
    reddish
blackish (sorta like the MKC's shown here)

and maybe a pale 'blond' or honey/coppery-gold

    &
for the metals would like to include:
    regular smooth aluminum
    sparkly, maybe textured aluminum
    a deeper-toned "titanium"
    plus
    'piano black' of course
(can't make up my mind about carbonfiber)

    very late edit (insomnia)
made a comparo of pricing...soooo similar imho
