well, the guys working in the plant (or so I'm told) call the MKX/Edge's VistaRoof™ a 'BAMR' (Big Ass MoonRoof)
so
maybe the Z's "PanoramicRoof"(?) could be called
- HAMR (Huge Ass MoonRoof) pronounced "hammer"
or
- GLAMR (GLAssMonster Roof) pronounced "glamour"
?

I hope it opens further than it shows here! If not, I do not see any advantage over other large or twin moonroofs.

I was thinking exactly that. Is a very complicated mechanism.

yeah I hope it opens more too...but at the very least it will have a much larger glass top than anything else out there now....the other sedans that offer glass roofs have a center bar splitting the glass and blocking the view at all times for those in back....this design should allow an all glass top with no such obstructions.

I was watching the video. Amazing! This sure to be the "Star" of the NY Show.

The roof looks like it can slide back more. If you look at the track at the rear window you see a fine line which leads me to think the roof slides more. Plus the article mentioned that the area is 2 1/2 feet by 2 feet when fully open. The MKZ has much better looking design than the "Stacked Shingles" that the Pontiac G6 sedan offered a few years back.
