I had a local reputable garage replace my clutch when it failed about 6 months ago. *The truck has 200000 miles on the original clutch before it went out. The head mechanic said that Ford would not allow him to order the same clutch but rather upgraded the clutch replacement to a Heavy Duty clutch. *When they finished the clutch install, the new clutch was very hard to push in. With a load and in low gear it would lunge. *I reported the problem to them and they said that I should continue to drive it to allow the clutch to adjust itself and the lunging would stop. *Six months later my clutch has went out again. *Are these mechanics telling me true facts about the Heavy Duty clutch? If so what might be the problem with my clutch?
