Am I the only one that questions long term reliability at specific outputs not utterly divergent from 140 hp a liter?

Personally, I'm more interested in the "other" powertrains, and where they can take average Joes like me. There is already too much of a premium price on the V8 motors; they are simply out of my range, and I couldn't afford the fuel for them anymore.

So I'm intrigued to see/learn what other powertrain options might provide for a fun, yet fuel-efficient, future experience.
I'm not sure we will see a V8 Mustang beyond 2019. The V6 will be top choice engine ( Shelby with 3.7 lt ecoboost ?) and a mix of 3 and 4 cyl with or without boost and hybrid powerplants will be the base models. Lincoln has no determinant weigth in the V8 future. I suspect Ford is not planning a V8 Lincoln .Maybe is not planning a proper flagship for the brand. The top Lincoln will be the MK S, and i'm sad for that . The F150 dont need a V8 . Look at the sales charts..... Almost the half of the trucks solds are V6. In 10 years, the V8 will be superfluous.
