Motor Trend and USA Today MKZ blurbs

MT here, and USA today here.

Important info from both is it looks like Monday's event was a "webcast," no ride and drive (in fact, the MT blub makes specific mention of the fact that they haven't driven it yet )

Other info include confirmation that the MKZ's grille is more or less the "face" of the Lincoln lineup for the future and further verification that the MKZ was essentially done before Wolff arrived, so I guess everything else except the grille about future Lincolns can change.

At least it appears that Lincoln is being realistic about their market positioning (or lack thereof) and who they're aiming at. It sounds like a good, embryonic start to me.

But for a vehicle arriving at dealers by year's end that's being built right now, it makes me again wonder when the media rides and drives will be?

my first hope is that all grille and tail light designs become harmonious & at least somewhat related

2nd is that he makes a PLAN(s) for direction(s) to take 5 - 10 - 20 years down the line (course changes are inevitable but without some guiding philosophy...is how we got 4 unrelated design themes sold concurrently)

third is maybe that MxW takes a look at Mission:LINCOLN

- claiming some dealers are already receiving stock Z's
- and calling that date into question

See it now. If any dealers are receiving stock that signals a "soon" start to pre-orders I would think. They just need to get them underway. I cringe at the 2013 MKZ = 10-12 weeks bit though on that chart.
