Having a dedicated hybrid is so far making a killing for the Ford Motor Company. Sales of electrified vehicles for the company came to their highest level of any month thanks mostly to the all-new C-Max hybrid and Energi. Overall sales in November rose 6-%, while retail sales rose 12-%.
As with electrified vehicles, the C-Max helped Ford score a 12 year high is small cars. The Ford Focus and Fiesta also saw gains during the month even as the latter nears its switchover. The last time small car sales were this high, the Focus Mk1 had launched with "old Ford" heavy rental sales.
F-Series sales hit a 7 year for the month as the truck rose 18 percent. Hurting overall sales was of course the ending of production of the Ranger. All other "truck" models saw gains however, overriding the loss.
Ford Fusion sales are recovering following the switchover to the all-new model. Many dealers did simply not have the inventory during November.
Lincoln sales fell as dealers wait for the all-new MkZ to start sales in December as the brand's first true effort to "re-launch" itself in the North American market. Ford also announced today the official advertising launch for the brand with the naming becoming "Lincoln Motor Company." As part of this, Lincoln also entered Twitter under @LincolnMotorCo.
