They seem to always be working on an upgrade.
All electronics are always working on an upgrade. It is the nature of the beast.
I get that, I work in IT.. but didn't they just have a press release saying they were working on another major update to the system? I think it was shortly after one of the recent CR reports where they slammed it. Not sure if they gave a time frame on when that was going to be released

The next major update for MFT is the version 3.5 that is in my Explorer Sport. For me, it works great, with no bugs, but Nick says his grandparents have still had a few bugs with it, in their MKT.
There will be another update for MFT after this one, and another one after that. Such is the nature of this type of technology. I accept that. However, unless I start to have some issues with mine, I will have to see what an update offers. We have used everything, and have had no bugs, no reboots, no nothing. It just works as it should.
Until Ford puts a 2 post AM/FM in their vehicles, CR will complain. Frankly, I'm amazed they have figured out how to start a vehicle with no key.
I have an '11 Explorer and the first update vastly improved the use of the navigation system and it improved the iPod interface as well. Overall, the voice commands improved too and I rarely, if ever, have an issue. The look was tweeked but not by much. I would love it if Ford and others offered different downloadable apps so that we could customize the look.
