Think about it. Due to the financial conditions, Mercury had to be put on ice so Lincoln could be rebuilt. Limited monies available is what that means. Ford, Mercury and Lincoln were "damaged brands". Lincoln and Mercury were getting to close in level. Remember that Lincoln HAD to be knocked down to "Entry-Level Luxury" (where Mercury was) for PAG to be a success. When PAG failed as we all knew it would, the main concern was to fix Ford so monies could be generated for more new products etc. Ford is on the right path so Lincoln is now getting the attention to get back on track to being upper lever luxury as it was in the past. Once Lincoln is established as a respected Brand then there could be room to bring Mercury back perhaps with a few changes so it can stand alone and not depend on being luxed-up Ford models as in the past. This is a process that will not fix overnight as we all can see. Mercury will be back someday better than ever.

I really hope you get to see it. It was a really good reveal. Like I said, it was really nice to hear Bill and Alan give the speeches. I think that was the first time I ever heard Bill Ford talk about Lincoln...

I finally got the see the video at the library
& there are TONS of design elements in the MKC that I expect to be used (in novel ways!) on future Lincolns ... think I got material for a slew of new chops!

around 5:40, where Mr. Farley says, "4 new vehicles in 4 years starting with the MKZ" (not verbatim)...
that sounds like the next 2 after the MKC, the MKX and a larger sedan might not be out until DECEMBER 2016??!!??
or, should I not take that so literally?? ...I was thinking from Mr. Mulally's recent comment that "The TWO" would be out by DEC.2014
