I think that with the MKC, people are going to change their opinion about Lincoln....also Lincoln needs to present the MKC and new Navi ASAPKeep calm
and wait for the MK C

I agree with the former, am bored with the latter. Stop with the cliched Ford references and at least be original in how you phrase it already. I don't disagree with the sentiment, but by God you're getting paid to write, stop plagiarizing every other Lincoln article written in the past year.“With premium, rear-wheel drive is building block No. 1,” Visnic said. “Lincoln is still trying to push gussied up versions of front-wheel drive Ford cars.”
I have no issue with a journalist/media type not writing about what Lincoln says they're going to do until such time as they do it, or for vehicles/trim levels (Black Label) at least show the concepts. Those types of forward looking articles are few and far between and I don't think Lincoln has earned the type of respect as a brand that such an article will likely draw enough readers to make sense. If BMW announced major changes to their business model then it would likely be covered because of their position in their market, whereas Lincoln is still an also ran in the premium market. Lincoln isn't going to be given a pass for, or coverage of, their plans until they have a track record of execution. With only the MKZ and promises at this point there is little to talk about unless like those of us here you have an emotional attachment to Lincoln. What shocks me actually, is that not one of these Google-Journalists will take the risk in writing an original article that can see past where they are today, and project a bit into the future that Lincoln is describing in not-so-insignificant detail.
agree with you Andrew L, is not a rebadge, just the same platformMKZ is not a rebadge no matter what they say... a rebadge would be:
Ford Escort - Mercury Tracer
Chevy Cavalier - Buick Skyhawk, Oldsmobile Firenza, Pontiac Sunbird, Cadillac Cimarron
Dodge Neon - Plymouth Neon
Ford Crown Victoria - Mercury Grand Marquis
Chevy Silverado - GMC Sierra
The Chrysler K Cars....
the list goes on... Those cars/trucks all have the same exact bodies but different grilles. As similar as the MKZ is to the Fusion no exterior body panel is the same... so NO ITS NOT A REBADGE
I gald to hear that the mkz will be receiving all new powertrains, can you comment about performance modelss wingsnut? understand if you cant. plus, in my opinion, FORD EXECS need to stop commenting/doing interviews about LINCOLN products, if they want to further market lincoln as a COMPANY (which it really isnt) having ford execs continuously talk about them to the media is a negative approach. Also, it time for lincoln to stop using names associated with FORD (eco boost, MLT, etc...), get their own phrases: all this adds to premium and diffI got a good look, both inside and out, of an MKZ with the Black Label interior Center Stage, with it's plush Foxfire Red suede everywhere the eye could see, premium leathers and materials. It really complimented the already stylish interior design. Even the new exterior colors and wheels are gorgeous.
I can tell you this much, with it's 300hp V6 engine, it is no dam Fusion.
And I will also say this, knowing full well it will ruffle some feathers......few cars if any can match it's plushness for the money.
Also too, all new powertrains are coming for it.
I like your idea about Lincoln specific names. They do have some, like My Lincoln Touch. Perhaps once they get their own exclusive engines, they can name exclusively too. I once pitched the idea of EcoForce, which borrows from their Twin Force name. And I can’t really comment on performance models, and what little I know, is related to engine anyway.I gald to hear that the mkz will be receiving all new powertrains, can you comment about performance modelss wingsnut? understand if you cant. plus, in my opinion, FORD EXECS need to stop commenting/doing interviews about LINCOLN products, if they want to further market lincoln as a COMPANY (which it really isnt) having ford execs continuously talk about them to the media is a negative approach. Ecoforce would be a good name, piggy backing off of twin force. But their marketing terms have to be different, and not just different JUST to be different, REALLY different. I mean "my LINCOLN touch", they literally just changed one word, and all of their other terms are EXACTLY the same (blind spot etc...) along with ecoboost. If they are really focused on changing things and taking lincoln back to glory (which will take time), EVERYTHING has to be changed. you cant have a luxury brand having the same branded things. Also, when i mention ford execs talking about lincoln, i dont mean giving future product information, but giving interviews about production constraints, selling in china, etc...I like your idea about Lincoln specific names. As far as execs talking too much about Lincoln, I am not so sure that is that case. There is the other camp that complains we hear little to nothing, so……..
