I mean it's a pretty basic article about defining luxury and what it means, we all know the basics of it and the blurred lines based on pricing alone. He does point out the importance of exclusivity which is very much a factor in why I choose Lincoln, if it was cheap and popular like a Lexus RX I'm not sure I'd want one. This is the first time however that I've heard him de-emphasis the importance of performance in a luxury car. Performance for me must not come at the expense of comfort and serenity, but confident performance is still important.
I would not gush over the Continental just yet, a concept is still a significant flight of fancy and the production car will be significantly more pedestrian. I'm sure it'll be a good car, but we are not talking Bentley money here which the Continental Concept replicates.
Personally I don't care at all about the Continental from a consumer perspective, it's not my personal style and I consider large sedans to be outmoded, but it's a flagship for Lincoln and should represent their best effort to date. I'll wait for the Aviator which I'm sure will be much nicer
and I´ll wait for the new Navigator
The first Navi was the reason I started to love the Lincoln brand so I have more than high expectations for the next one!
