GM is obviously targeting the Shelbys by giving people a mass-produced low cost sports car in the style of a Ferrari.

Then again a number of potential GT500 owners were upgrading from their Mustang GT daily drivers.

We know 6 footers will fit in the 48 inch tall C8 but how does it feel getting in and out of one on a regular basis?
Another question is the non-expandable trunk next to the V8, does it get warm?

Warm? Oh no....I think , after a travel of 200 miles on a freeway in summer, it will be something like this:

Once they start putting out the top end Vettes it's going to movie quickly into Ford GT territory. The C7 was competitive with the GT on the track and there is no reason to think C8 won't be. I doubt any Mustang was targeted with the C8, they're in a different segment with largely different buyers.

It's okay for GM to have some success without telling ourselves it's somehow in response to the great Ford Motor Company!

I applaud such a well measured, and thoughtful response. The C8 has zero natural competitors at the great Ford Motor Company.

The mid engined Ford GT has no competition from GM either.

True, both have no direct competitors with each other when it comes to 2-seater sportscars/supercars.

The performance comparisons of the C8 vs a Ford GT, Ferrari or McLaren is purely based on one performance figure, its 0-60mph acceleration time of approximately 3 seconds (which people translate as under 3 seconds) when equipped with the Z51 performance package.

...don't forget to mention the Tesla Model 3, which is compared to anything with 4 wheels, always being faster (in a straight line and for a limited time). It's strange not to have seen comparisons between a bullet train and the Tesla yet ...
