Ford's Up/Down Safety Ratings ...Only Conti made the List :thumb:

In a recent report by the IIHS, they say that within the sea of Asian cars, the Lincoln Continental was the only car to get a Top Safety Pick+ award. The 2017 Ford Fusion had it, but was demoted to just Top Safety Pick, now IIHS is saying they don't even get that anymore. I also thought the F150, Escape and Expedition had +'s. How can Ford improve on safety?

I believe they added headlights as a requirement to get the + now, and I know for whatever reason, they rate many of the Ford headlights low, so that likely hurt a few vehicles' scores.

Headlights to get +. Do they not think any Fords deserve at least Top Safety Pick?

^ no Chevys either ...I don't think of the VoltUnicorn as belonging to ANYthing

edit: meant to say before,
afaik,
it's not FORD that's UP-&-DOWN,
it's the changing/everything-we-knew-is-Wrong testing criteria of the IIHS

Do you think Ford offers better safety technology in Europe?

Re: Ford's Up and Down Safety Ratings

Looked up on IIHS:

The 2018 Fusion is a Top Safety Pick.

http://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/veh...oor-sedan/2018

So is the 2018 F150

http://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/veh...rew-cab-pickup

But neither are mentioned on the list. Also, why isn't the MKZ a Top Safety Pick anymore?

Watch Toyota fail at something!

2015 Toyota Rav4 still not protected on passenger side. (applies to 2016- present as well)
