Full disclosure I used to work for SpaceX so I really like Musk and his companies. But I have an honest question for all of you. Kinda a roll call thing.

Have any of you even driven a Tesla?

I think the uniqueness is wearing off a bit now. The 'gotta have the first in the neighborhood' crowd are no longer the first, and may look elsewhere.
I am seeing them in parking lots now, so I know they are selling well in my area. I don't know why there is a 'stock', if the 400K pre-orders were built to customer demand, and being delivered to those who waited the longest. They should be in transit soon after being produced. Tesla should report a big profit for 4Q18, and then the work begins...people will expect them to not only repeat, but improve on this profit quaterly. 2019 will be an interesting year at Tesla.

I hope Tesla does finally see a real profit and continues to perpetuate that......and wish no real ill to American brands and workers. Competition is good for all, of course.

If they do, then the rumors of their recent small profit due to 'creative book keeping' would be just that, a rumor.

I donīt want to drive a car with 1 inch gaps between the body pieces, I donīt want to drive a car that cost 60000$ and have an extreme austere interior most related with a Chinese car than with a luxury car.

Profits? Are you sure? Wall Street say Tesla will continue running in red in 2019. That is why the stock price fall.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, have something to show at Detroit on the EV front.
A car that run with batteries that need to charge with electricity is not an EV? Oh man, what happen to you? The Focus electric is an electric car, whatever you say. A modern EV? Of course not! But really, is an EV.
...it's an EV conversion. That's my point. It is a retrofit never engineered to be a proper EV. My Fiat 500e is also not a proper EV, but a retrofit conversion compliance car. An i3 is an actual EV designed from the ground up to be one, if done so with the wrong priorities. A Tesla is a real EV, designed and engineered from the beginning to be one. A Focus EV is a battety thrown in the trunk. Sorry, I'm not going to slap Ford on the back and give'em an Atta Boy for that least possible effort.

...reading Tesla's own quarterly from Q3, they reiterated cash flow positive for Q4, even with a sizeable payment coming due.

Add that the I-Pace and e-tron are both $70-90k models, for vehicles in the Model 3 size range, it looks like Tesla has a cost advantage, currently.

I really do hope Ford shows theirs soon. They could be very competitive with an e-tron GT sized vehicle in the $60k range.
You are trying to compare the excellence of Porsche and Mercedes-Benz with the mediocrity of Tesla? Yes. Mediocrity. A good power plant in a very bad vehicle with a bad assembly quality. That is Tesla.
...what excellence? Are they currently building any BEVs? No? Hmmm.
