A family controlled business does make a big difference, too. GM and Chrysler never had that luxury. The Ford family is the glue that keeps Ford Motor Company together. They love and care about the company their ancestors worked very hard to start and build, and I hope future generation Ford family members do the same. Bill Jr. is such a caring man, and I wish him the best.

Do you guys ever see Edsel Ford II?

Agreed 100%, and no, rarely is Edsel seen any more. What do people that wealthy do all day, when you never even hear of them out in the general public?

Bill Ford Jr.: Mark Fields is 'a product of the change in this culture' - DetroitNews

...Can Fields keep it going? That’s for Bill Ford Jr., executive chairman and the person most responsible for luring Mulally from Boeing Co. in 2006, to answer in his new role as Ford’s self-appointed culture cop.

“I firmly believe this culture in embedded in our company,” Bill Ford said in an interview Thursday, following confirmation that Fields, Ford’s chief operating officer, would succeed Mulally, 68, on July 1. “Nobody wants to let that go. I will look for derailing behavior.” Fields “is also a product of the change in this culture. He’s embedded this more than anyone.”

My question to Mr.Mulally is "Will you spend your own hard earned money on a Ford or Lincoln vehicle as your daily driver?"

Re: Ford Officially Names Mark Fields as Next CEO

Big news for sure, not surprising as we all knew it was coming, but Ford weather quite a storm with Mullally at the helm, so it's great that such an enthusiastic guy as Fields is going to take over now that Ford has some momentum. Should be a good decade for Ford!
