I agree with you. 65K is too much money for a car that dont have everything a carmaker can put on it. A LEDs headligths is a tech i want in my future car, too.

Re: Ford Explorer Platinum

Explorer has always had, imho, one of the most handsome designs in it's class that wears well through the decades.
This should sell well.

The Explorer Platinum exists mostly because Lincoln isn't getting one until the next-gen Explorer. There is still plenty of room for Lincoln to do much better.

Re: Ford Explorer Platinum

If the next Explorer/Aviator are based off a stretched, three-row Edge/MKX, then I believe it would be worth the wait for Lincoln. Let Ford crank out as many high profit Explorers as they can now. Making that platform into a Lincoln for a couple years would cost more in design, production, marketing, and inventory than any profit it would make above the current Explorer which is already tight in production.

I like the commercial, but naming it Tough Love is ridiculous. They could have had a base Fiesta follow that Explorer through the video and had no issues.

Re: Ford Explorer Platinum

Who cares what they named it. It is a very eye catching commercial with excellent visuals. Does it really matter that they are not rockcrawling on the Rubicon??

One nice thing on these Ford commercials is, they do a great job at showing features, while saying nothing about them. There is nothing obvious or tacky, but you go "ooh, I love that huge sunroof." It is the subtle sell, and I like it much better than the overt.

Re: Ford Explorer Platinum

Tough love works for me, it's not like the Explorer is not tough. But most never know the name anyway.

I agree the name matters not. I just found it comical when a base Fiesta could cover the same ground.
