I would not see a problem getting 27 highway. I get 23 MPG highway on my 2013 F150 STX 5.0 at 65.

2013 F650 XLT SC Rollback, 2013 F150 STX RCSB 5.0, 2013 Escape Titanium (wifes) & 73 Cutlass 455 4 Speed.

The only thing I hate about this truck is the design. I was hoping for something more revolutionary rather than evolutionary.

You mean like the Silverado/Sierra twins should have been? The current F-150 design is still relatively young with respect to some of it's competition so I kinda expected something a little more derivative with the bigger news being the fuel saving technologies.

Yep! The Kenworth "Daylight Door" cue has been on the Super Duty for a long time now(since 1999). I was hoping it would disappear in this concept, but they decided to keep it. Also, I was hoping it was going to be as small as the 10th generation trucks were. Other than that, the fuel saving technologies are amazing.

I was hoping for a bit smaller also. I felt the 97-03 trucks were the perfect size for an F150. This looks like the Super Duty could share the cab. I really like the design though.

Maybe they will revive the F-100 project.

Re: F-150 Ready To Take On Thirteenth Generation With New Atlas Concept

I think that this is the best looking truck by far. as far as the design goes, I was expecting something a little bit, well, different, perhaps something along the lines of taking it in the direction of the fusion and deploying bit of European flare into it, given that the escape and other nameplates, including the mustang, are, and will likely, take on a more global design. but then again, im not too surprised as this it an only north American nameplate.

as far as the GM trucks go, I think that, IMHO, I don't think that the general was looking to realy steal away any significant market share away from ford, I thinkthat the order that we see now in terms of truck sales, with ford being on top, is secretly the accepted hierarchy in the auto biz, and this update was more so about keeping the customer base happy and keeping current owners from migrating over to ford or elsewhere. the only ones I couldsee looking to be insurgent is Toyota. but they couldn't design a good looking car now a days if they tried.
