The forgotten flagship: Audi A8

When someone ask you about the best luxury sedans, some names come to your mind: Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7- Series and even the Lexus LS. What about the Audi big sedan? The A8 is a fine luxury car, but it's anonymous style and extremely family resemblance sends it to the bottom of the big luxury sedan's sales charts.

Is the new 2019 model (presented in Spain 2 days ago) different? IMO, no. It has the best tech? Yes! Is the first Level 3 autonomous car on the road. It has a luxury and good interior? Yes! One of the finest interior in a sedan today, with almost zero buttons/knobs (all controls are in touch screens). But the style is still boring, invisible and conservative (some very, very subtle curves at the sides and a full width tailligths are new) and very similar to the rest of the Audi line of sedans. If you park one of them in a row of Audi A4s, you will suffer to distinguish which is the flagship. (I will put one pic of the A4 with the A8 pictures to show you what I try to say)

Is the Audi A8 a good luxury sedan? Maybe the best, but I think it will continue to be the forgotten flagship.

It reminds me of a stretched Taurus with VW accents.

Re: The forgotten flagship: Audi A8

The back is ok, but I don't think the front looks very premium or elegant at all, and the profile, while nice, is boring. The interior looks great, though.
