...let’s talk your fictitious price. It starts at $153,000. The specs you quoted are also for the $187,000 Turbo S. You were only $101,000 off...

...in other words, you could by a 370mi range Model S (Taycan Turbo S is about 220-240) AND a Cayman GT4 for the price of a Turbo S.

Re: The Porsche Taycan is here

The price of 86000$ is for the less powered upcoming version, the non Turbo/Turbo S models. Anyway, when we compare the specs of the Porsche and the Tesla, the faster-than-Lambo win , again.

Let see:
Power:
Faster-than-Lambo: 762hp
Porsche: 750hp

Torque:
Faster-than-Lambo: 723 lb-ft
Porsche: 774 lb-ft

weight:
Faster-than-Lambo: 4883 lbs
Porsche: 5121 lbs

0-60 mph:
Faster-than-Lambo: 2.4 sec
Porsche: 2.6 sec

Range:
Faster-than-Lambo: 345 miles
Porsche: 256 miles

Trunk volume:
Faster-than-Lambo: 26,3 cu/ft
Porsche: 12,9 cu/ft

So, Porsche will need to use the more advanced tech , better interior, best quality and its badge to convince the customers to prefer the Taycan over the faster-than-Lambo Tesla... Of course, those customers that only want to run faster (one or two laps... not much more) dont have to think much.

Re: The Porsche Taycan is here

One of the first review of the new Porsche.

"Yet, the prevailing, cage-match narrative that’s pitting Porsche's new EV against the Tesla Model S is largely irrelevant. To all but the wealthiest buyers, these electric sedans are too disparately priced to be considered direct competitors."

"Given that price and its much newer design, the Porsche **** well should be better than the Tesla, and it is, even if the electric range — likely a real-world 230 or 240 miles — falls disappointingly short of Tesla’s 300-mile heights."

"What you get for that lofty price is a four-door supercar GT, a technical and performance marvel that hints at the impending decline and obsolescence of Porsche’s traditional, gas-fueled cars."

Re: The Porsche Taycan is here

Another first review from Motor Trend. HELLboy may come to say that this review is a paid by Porsche.... anyway.... here the article: https://www.motortrend.com/cars/pors...ic-car-review/

"The Taycan faithfully follows the Model S' formula as a large, handsome sedan that also happens to be electric and ridiculously quick in a straight line. Porsche hopes to set itself apart, though, by making the Taycan drive like a Porsche, even if it means the car's range isn't even close to the Tesla's."

"Taycan is a resounding success of a car on its own merits. Porsche has built an EV that's as stunning to drive as it is to look at, with handling and build quality straight out of the box Tesla still hasn't mastered."

...no one knows what the base model will cost, but I doubt it will be faster than a standard AWD Mod 3...but the $150k (before the required $10-20k in options) Turbo barely, I mean barely, outruns my $57k P3D, assuming Tesla doesn’t release a power update just to screw with Porsche.

The Porsche is a great car. Still, the performance isn’t that compelling given how much fun you can have in a P3D. You could have a Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 and a P3D for the cost of a Turbo. 🙂 That sounds like a helluva lot more fun to me.

.... and if you want more fun, you can buy 3 4cyl Mustangs (one blue color, one white and one red!) and one faster-than-Lambo-and-Taycan car for the price of a Porsche. But you will not own a Porsche, with everything that implies owning a car of that brand.
The people that buy a Porsche Taycan is looking for something different. Even other Porsche car is not enough for them. They want the ultimate tech and luxury combination. Only a Taycan can give them that.
