Doubt it will do anything but they are saying what I've been saying for a while... you CAN save the sedan you need electrification like Tesla.
Doesn’t even have to be EV...there’s still a huge market for sedans, now dominated by Toyota, Honda and Nissan...and the Germans.

Those huge drop in sedan sales happened before the latest Lincoln CUV's like Aviator and Corsa. I imagine that their plummet will be much harsher this year, right on down to limited niche sales numbers. Investing billions into that segment, makes very little sense. And with small to large CUV/SUV segments being filled, I would imagine a very striking new full size Rivian-shared BEV silhouette makes far more sense. There is no need for tallish CUV proportions, but rather something right between a CUV and sedan. A low CG handling advantage is hardly a priority, in a heavy BEV product like this anyway. And the rumors that it will be here quickly make sense, timed perfectly with the demise of the Fusion based Conti next year.

‘Huge drop’ LOL!!! Can we just admit for once and for all the Ford can’t or don’t want to build sedans that can compete with the Japanese and Germans?

It’s a high risk game, once you abandon a market there’s no coming back...

I guess some don't bother to read the articles, and would rather just provoke arguments.
Yes, there was a huge drop in sedan sales at Lincoln. Do we really have to prove the obvious???

And LOL at "high risk game".
Tell me again how not investing billions in a dying segment is a risk? Especially a segment that is barely profitable?

But that's the point, you can't.

Volume without profit = wasted capital
