Ford has released no information about their EV other than it's VERY VERY LATE!
Uh, Ford has sold a gazillion hybrids relative to VW. VW is new to them.
And what exactly is platform technology? You lost me there. Are you referring to dedicated EV's? Well just to be clear there, VW has NEVER sold a BEV. Ford has nearly a decade of experience selling all of the above.

And far more important that who rushes a picture of a future EV to social media, is who has the better, profitable, sustainable plan.

You can't have your own facts, just opinions.

FYI....VW has sold over 12K e-Golfs in the US alone, not including global sales that far exceed the US, using their first gen battery pack technology. Then there is the Golf GTE and Audi e-Tron Sportback that's been on sale for years globally.

Below is EV platform technology(for dedicated EVs)...that Ford has not been able to show. Even the obvious can be confusing when we don't want to believe what is true or factual or real. We know Ford is so far behind in EV technology, and VW already has 5 battery manufacturing and EV production plants either under construction or producing prototype EVs TODAY. And the reality is that PHEVs really don't matter much when the BEV is available for about the same money, with the BEV offering so many more benefits to the consumer and the manufacturer.

Ford is just behind and hopefully VW will help them dig their way out of this mess. While Ford can help VW with autonomy technology.

Again, this is the BEV platform that Ford does not have...

Forgot about the e-Golf recently introduced. Still can't come close to nearly a decade of experience Ford has.
And I hardly doubt Ford should bow to VW nor do they have much to learn from them, simply because they have shown a few CGI pics of a dedicated platforms concept....lol......OOOhhhh. Ford has plenty up their sleeve for a sustainable and profitable EV transition. I believe their decision to be secretive is strategically wise, as there is plenty of news forthcoming that will explain this.

Ford open to investors in autonomous vehicles but cautious on VW, Hackett says
Joseph White | Automotive News

MIAMI -- Ford Motor Co. CEO Jim Hackett says the automaker is open to investment by automakers and others in its autonomous vehicle business, but cautioned that expanding partnerships with German automaker Volkswagen AG is a "delicate dance."

Volkswagen's supervisory board is scheduled to meet on Thursday to review a 10-year strategic plan assembled by CEO Herbert Diess that is expected to propose using alliances with rivals to cut development costs for electric and autonomous vehicles and potentially other types of vehicles.

Ford and VW have acknowledged they are in discussions. Hackett said on Wednesday a previously announced partnership to share development of future light commercial vehicles is “going better than we thought it would.”

“Herbert and I had a great discussion,” about the commercial vehicle business, Hackett said. However, Hackett said expanding collaboration to other areas, such as electric vehicles or consolidation in Latin America, would have to be done carefully, and no broader deal has been agreed.

"We compete in a bunch of areas as well," he said.

Hackett say that a partnership with VW is a "delicate dancer", and I understand what he says since dancing with VW is like dancing with an alligator. If you're careless, he can swallow you at any time!

Ford, VW aim to detail partnership scope at Detroit auto show

Quote:
Details of the proposed tie-up are unclear, but the automakers are expected to partner on a number of fronts to reduce costs and streamline operations. Both sides have said any potential deal would not involve a merger, although Ford CFO Bob Shanks has said discussions were not being limited.

I am in the market for a premium compact car with an Independent Rear suspension.
