Lincoln opens Experience Center in Newport, Cali
DetroitNews

Lincoln Motor Co. recently opened a 5,200-square-foot experience center in a swanky shopping center in Newport Beach, California, that it hopes will draw more people to the brand.

Guests can use the center to casually browse Lincoln vehicles, customize their own car and set up an appointment with the closest dealer to buy it, or just relax with a free cup of coffee. It’s situated at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, an upscale, open-air shopping center with stores ranging from Louis Vuitton and Neiman Marcus to Forever 21 and Cheesecake Factory...

...The Lincoln experience center is part of the brand’s expanded “Lincoln Way” initiative to provide personalized luxury services...

Build your own (digital) Lincoln at new showroom in Newport Beach
L A Times

By Bradley Zint - July 20, 2016

Seeking new customers in Southern California's luxury car market, Lincoln Motor Co. has opened a new showroom at Newport Beach's Fashion Island where potential buyers can sip free coffee and digitally create their own cars.

Dubbed the Lincoln Experience Center, the 5,200-square-foot space near Macy's is the Michigan-based company's first such facility in the United States. Managers say visitors will experience a "quiet luxury" personalized for them...

...The center, which includes a cafe with free beverages and a sitting lounge, showcases new Lincoln vehicles and seeks to build on the company's growth of the past four years, which includes four new models...

...Nearby is a giant touch screen that digitally creates a customized car. Users can choose everything from the tires and body style to the interior colors and materials. Near the screen is a wall with the design materials magnetically attached so buyers can see them up close.

A separate room promotes Lincoln's Black Label program, which offers additional customization. The room also demonstrates the Revel car stereo system.

When customers are ready to inquire about buying, the center can connect them to area dealerships and arrange test drives.

Frick said the Lincoln Experience Center has had soft openings in recent weeks, with an estimated 4,000 visitors so far.

The center also will host events that have nothing to do with cars, the first of which is July 28, about pairing wine and cheese.

The center is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays.

For more information, visit www.lincolnexperiencecenter.com or call (844) 236-3174.

Is this traditional Lincoln experience, or the new Lincoln experience? I'm guessing it's the new experience otherwise they'd have placed this in a nursing home!

Classic & posh luxury doesn't have to equal "old" luxury. I'm sincerely loving their quiet luxury approach. Very smart having it in a shopping Plaza next to Louis Vuitton. I'd love to see Lincoln become a "designer luxury" type brand and not a sports brand like BMW.

Well they certainly did that in the 70s with the Bill Blass, Givenchy, and Pucci series

And the Cartier editions as well!

I think that would actually be cool. When Lincoln reestablishes itself a bit more, I think it would be cool for them to partner with some designer brands to offer limited edition designer Black Label themes.

Luxury and performance - even sportiness - need not be mutually exclusive. "Quiet Luxury" is the current approach because, IMHO, Ford/Lincoln does not yet have platforms to compete with the best (MB, BMW, Audi, maybe Lexus) or the rest (Infiniti, Hyundai, Cadillac). That's why, only now, Ford is furiously (I hope) developing new platforms.

Lincoln has done "designer" before and that approach is valid and needed but, with the proper platforms and drivetrains, "sporty" does not have to be thrown out with the bathwater.
