Re: Next Gen MKC?

The only problem I ever had with the pushbuttons on our MKC was that when we upsized to an Edge I never have been able to shake myself of the habit of just shutting the car off without putting it in park. I'm really looking forward to going back to pushbuttons when we get our Corsair later this year.

I've had my MKX for a year, and while largely acclimated, I'd go back to a traditional console shifter in a heartbeat.

And, yes.

You said it.

You are closed-minded.
The difference: All those other things were improvements. They saved time and/or enhanced our lives. E-shifters do no such thing. They're change for the sake of change. I'm tired of hearing how push-buttons free up console space. Free it up for what? You putting a planter there?

I get that e-shifters aren't going away, but there's no reason they can't largely replicate a traditional shifter, as the best ones do.

As pointed out already, it's in the same position as Navigator and Aviator.

I don't understand your comment - the letters do light up?

vs.

But since we change gears when not moving, it's not that much of a complaint.

Oh, I didn't even notice that. I was only able to glance at the photos earlier.
I agree then. Odd that they'd make that change, when the buttons themselves are probably exactly the same across the models (Navi, Aviator, and Corsair).

It helps that you can still see the gear you're in in the new instrument cluster.

It doesn't bother me too much. I love the new Lincoln experience they brought to us with the Aviator as a whole.

Also interesting to note that Corsair (or at least this particular model) doesn't get the full digital gauge cluster - it has an analog tach/speedo with a screen between them.

This does appear to be a base model, though, so maybe upper trims will have it.

Re: Next Gen MKC?

I wonder if there was a time when people were reluctant to use those new electric starters and keys to start there car, which replaced the mechanical connection the owners would get with a hand crank.
