That's why I'd only want it if the Aviator is delayed for too long! Have it be an intermediate model.

Well, that's coming too. But this would be an extra option. It sounds like it'll be China-only anyway.

Good to see you around though jose, it’s been a while. Summer classes keeping you busy?
haha ok wings, sorry I didnīt understand your jest , I though you confused me with someone else.
Yeah, we did have some disagreements but it was because as a Lincoln fans, I always expect more from new Lincoln vehicles although I understand that Lincoln needs to sell more vehicles to have a better differentiation from Ford vehicles. I also like Mercedes Benz a lot, so that is my luxury brand reference.
Thank you, it is good to talk to you. Indeed, itīs been a while, I finished university a couple of years ago , I am working now, that is why I donīt have the time that I had before to visit FIN .

PS: I still think the new Navigator looks stunning and way better than the ugly QX

Re: 2019 Lincoln MKX Restyle

It would be nearly impossible to make an attractive MKX-L so I think that's absolutely bogus, even for China. Spending a fortune on a car that looks ugly with a nearly useless 3rd row instead of buying a properly designed 3-Row luxury SUV is a silly notion. Aviator is coming and MKX is nearly half-way through its lifecycle, no point in doing this now.

It might look longer, but the F-Pace is actually shorter than the MKX by about 4".

I'd really like to hear an honest comparison of interior room, tho numbers alone are
not good enough
exteriors:
190.0 - 112.2 - 2016 MKX
186.3 - 111.2 - old MKX
186.2 - 113.1 - F-Pace

.

I agree that numbers don't tell the whole story. I found the F-Pace's interior to be disappointing. It is a WIDE car, but the high belt line and relatively low roof makes it feel considerably smaller. (The materials disappoint, too, but that's a topic for another discussion.)

The numbers:

MKX
Front Head Room: 39.2
Front Leg Room: 42.8
Front Shoulder Room: 58.9
Second Head Room: 39.2
Second Leg Room: 39.6
Second Shoulder Room: 59.0
Cargo Volume: 37.2
F-Pace
Front Head Room: 37.8
Front Leg Room: 40.3
Front Shoulder Room: 57.7
Second Head Room: 37.5
Second Leg Room: 37.2
Second Shoulder Room: 55.8
Cargo Volume: 33.5

I sat in the F-Pace at the Tampa Auto Show and it the interior felt incredibly cramped. I have driven an MKX as a loaner when I had my Z in for service and it does feel much bigger.

Well, regardless, China is supposed to get an exclusive Lincoln model. And there's no way we wouldn't get Aviator too.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is a 3-row MKX. Or at least a 2-row with an extended wheelbase. (They love their back seat leg room.) The Edge Limited doesn't look odd to me, just different. I see no reason they couldn't make an extended MKX work stylistically.

On a related topic, if the Explorer moves up a bit in size to help cover people-hauling duties for the soon-to-be-axed Flex, it is quite possible we will get the longer Edge (XL?) here in the U.S. to fill the gap between the Edge and Explorer. Something in the 195" to 196" range to compete directly with the Highlander and Acadia sounds about right. After all, the market has shown you can't have too many crossovers, and I believe there is still one new crossover model unaccounted for.
