Re: First 2018 Navigator Reviews

I think Lincoln is going with nautical or geographical names for the SUV/CUVs.

Navigator
Aviator
Nautilus

So for MKC, maybe Citadel, Commodore, Corsair, etc.

Re: First 2018 Navigator Reviews

Mariner would be a perfect one, but they may shy away from it because of Mercury's usage of it.

Light Ice Blue/White Suede Roof | Med. Lt. Stone Interior | Vista Roof
2018 Ford Mustang GT Convertible

Re: First 2018 Navigator Reviews

I think the theme is travel, so Mariner is a name that's hard to pass up for MKC. I think they would do just fine with it despite it's recent pedigree on a Mercury but I'm sure they have other ideas in mind as well that might work. Cyrus is an interesting name, thematically it doesn't fit however. Lincoln is extremely flexible, they are constantly tweaking their messaging.

Re: First 2018 Navigator Reviews

I'm not so against Mariner despite its Mercury association. Mercury is not coming back (Sorry, 2b2) so why waste a good, Ford patented name when the theme is, indeed, travel.

As a career pilot, I noted that the term "avigate" was once floated as a distinguisher from "navigate" but the new term never caught on. Earlier on, the term "aviator" (not "avigator") did catch on as a distinguisher from "navigator" but that's what makes English what it is; our illogical, ever-evolving mother-tongue.

Since Lincoln is free to use any first letter in its naming scheme, the field for the MKC and MKZ is wide open. Admiral, anyone? Admirals outrank Commodores any day.

Astronaut?
Argonaut?

Oops. Getting off-topic.

I've proposed Aeronaut in the past.

Re: First 2018 Navigator Reviews

instead of Mariner, they could use Maritime ( I know of a few maritime museums). It seems to flow better with Lincoln.

Sorry, I can't listen to that dipshit's voice for one second more.
Why does everyone insist on flair-ing it up and making it about them and their style, instead of just reporting the facts.

Good God

@wingsnut Rough! It's an extremely positive review and he rates the Navigator as the best daily driver vehicle he's ever tested.

Perhaps, but I will never experience it. His review I mean.
