The link mentions that the MkC will launch before the year ends and that it will most likely not debut in an auto show.

Re: Revamped Lincoln to launch by year-end

Interesting. But 'launch' is such a vague term when it comes to non-industry speak, it could be just referring to debut, at least how I see it. I see a debut this year and a true launch next year Q1 as a '15 model. Anyone with more insight?

Is a summer debut possible? The Explorer debut was extremely successful.

Re: Revamped Lincoln to launch by year-end

how long after its "virtual-debut" did the Explorer get to dealers?

imho, if the MKC won't be in dealers until TurkeyDay** or later, nothing sooner than showing at LAIAS makes any sense...

** originally said "Crimmas/NewYear's" but that's TOO DUMB of a timing to even contemplate
pre-edit
wouldn't it be ""cute"" if FlincMoCo published an Order-By date to assure Crimmas delivery?

post-edit....................

if the mkc will debut before LAIS, the mkx could be in LAIAS?

Re: Revamped Lincoln to launch by year-end

^ then what would Lincoln have at NAIAS, Jose?...the MKS-concept? even tho it won't go on sale until late-ish 2014!
OR
just "stand aside" for the Mustang??

edit/RANT
ya know what I'd like to see (besides a Navi refresh TOMORROW),
is:
LAIAS
- 3 lifesize 'plaster' rough casts of the C X & S
only the C would have a vehicle inside, which
would burst out of it at the PressConference
NAIAS - the X's turn
Chicago where the S is BUILT!! ...it's turn
(('course THEN I'd like the MKE at NYC -- hey that rhymes! ))

If the MKC premiers before LA and indeed launches this year, I would think LA could see a Navigator facelift debut, with it hitting showrooms next year. However I still think MKC won't truly launch until next year. It may get unveiled outside of the Auto Show circuit, but my money's on the MKC being the spotlight in LA, and Navigator plus perhaps a concept at NAIAS.

Too early for the S, and even the X probably won't make a public appearance until later next year.

The MKC will be launching as will the sexy new MKX shortly after that.
The all new MKS will have been shown as will the new lighter Navigator with an impressive new D35 EcoBoost.
Several new powertrains will also have launched with new MKC, and upgrades for MKZ as well. I believe performance versions of several Lincolns will also be in the news. And there is at least one more surprise coming too...

re: the Navigator,
imho a really new one will be based on the nextgen ultralight F-150
I figured Ford would dominate resources in that 'arena', so most likely the big Lincoln would come out after the pickup's Q3 2014 Job1...
...leaving enough time for the OOOOOOOOOOOoverdue refresh the Navi could have gotten whenever FLincMoCo became ASHAMED of still selling such outdated styling.
Tho I'd settle for a new grille,
was pondering the old-new engines 3.7/3.5EB/5.0 and a partial interior updating
