With 10,917 sales coming from one model, the Prius Liftback, down -21% that Ford has no direct competitor.....Yet!
sounds like a great idea for a FLincMoCo-wide POLL...

Re: What new electroVehicle(s) should F-L produce Next?

It needs to be a crossover, preferably MKX or Edge. With electrified crossovers coming from numerous manufacturers next year, Ford needs to enter this market or I will have no choice but to look elsewhere when my current lease is up.

I really oughta look up dimensions of the liftback-Peeuus
but
chronologically
-- think they shoulda ALREADY intro'ed a Z-ENergi
-- the C should Go-OnSale with sumthin (not Escape)
-- [No] for Mustang imho
-- TransCon, whenever (passenger-style only?)
-- X=energi, Edge=hybrid imho Timf, which'd you buy?
-- my MKE, just before
-- new MKS(whatever it's called)
-- LincStang can "race" Navi - dunno which is sooner

edit: (OMG, it's working!)

Re: What new electroVehicle(s) should F-L produce Next?

I think Ford should go Hybrid and Energi with ALL current C platform vehicles.

With no word on when the RWD hybrid system will be available, so SUV hybrids will come later.

For MY2015:

7. Focus Hybrid

8. Focus Energi

9. MKZ Energi

For MY2016:

Assuming RWD Hybrid system is ready...

10. Edge Hybrid

11. Edge Energi

12. MKX Hybrid

13. MKX Energi

14. MKC Hybrid

15. MKC Energi

For MY2017 and beyond:

16: Taurus Hybrid

17. Taurus Energi

18. MKS Hybrid

19. MKS Energi

20. Explorer Hybrid

21. Explorer Energi

22. Expedition Hybrid

23. Expedition Energi

24. Navigator Hybrid

25. Navigator Energi

26. Aviator Hybrid

27. Aviator Energi

28. F-150 Hybrid

30. F-150 Energi

Re: What new electroVehicle(s) should F-L produce Next?

^ TY for the year-by-year listing, Bloggin

...I've got this fixation of Energis for Lincoln!!
think a Lux buyer "oughta" just $pring for the deluxEversion
like
*IF* FLincMoCo built all 4 per platform, 2hybrids & 2 energis;
the Ford hybrid would sell more (pretty sure they DO)
&tho, hopefully the Lincoln energi would beat an 'ordinary' hybrid's sales numbers...

ps Bloggin,
could you please list all the (13?) Toyletta/Lexoid e-vehicles?

edit (it's STILL working! :faint:)
forgot about pure-electric BEVs...
naturally I want my MKE(s), a bit roomier than a Volt (way more than an ELR or Leaf)
& think a would be 'nice';
guess some kind of Cuv would be good but I worry about aerodynamics...

Re: What new electroVehicle(s) should F-L produce Next?

Let's see....

I added what I thing is or would be the Ford competition next to each model.

1. Prius Liftback (Focus Hybrid?)
2. Prius Liftback plug-in (Focus Energi?)
3. Prius V (C-MAX Hybrid / C-MAX Energi)
4. Prius c (Fiesta Hybrid?)
5. Camry Hybrid (Fusion Hybrid / Fusion Energi)
6. Avalon Hybrid (Taurus Hybrid?)
7. RAV4 EV (Escape Hybrid / Energi?)
8. Highlander Hybrid (Explorer Hybrid?)

Lexus

9. CT Hybrid - best selling hybrid for Lexus (Focus hatch based MKE Hatch?)
10. ES Hybrid (MKZ Hybrid)
11. GS Hybrid (MKS Hybrid?)
12. RX Hybrid (MKX Hybrid?)
13. LS Hybrid (Continental Hybrid?)

Big TY, Bloggin! & for listing (approx) Ford models too x2

eventually (tomorrow's busy) I'll come up with a counter-proposal with my Lincoln-intensive fixation

...still hoping an admin can make the Poll multi-choice
(tho I'm gonna try hard to be able of vote [ ] other
despite "my" MKE)
------------- which^ I've happened to imagine as almost exactly the same length as the P-V
------------- hmmmm....

Re: What new electroVehicle(s) should F-L produce Next?

Since Ford has so far managed to put electric drivetrains in their regular production vehicles, I really think they should continue this plan of attack and offer an electric as an option on all platforms (or at least as many as possible). Basically make it just one extra motor option. I know that a vehicle / platform has to be designed with space for the batteries (it's not as simple as slotting a diesel engine into the space where a gas one is), but going forward it would be excellent if they could plan for electrics everywhere!
