Yes I agree! The current sedan looks like it has a big fat butt. Hope that Ford considers the sedan and that it does look better and more well balanced.

Re: All New Fiesta

roof-SHAPE is 'ok' but
I don't like the C-pillar ...nor the beltline NOT leading into it (see Volvo 40 concept for a non-Fomoco example)
but
tho Theo is tops for chop quality, afaik he doesn't have a crystal ball

What limits the design of the current/outgoing Fiesta sedan is its exaggerated rising beltline it inherited from the hatchback. This is not exactly sedan-friendly design element.
The best version of the current Fiesta sedan is the Asian/Russian one with shorter bumpers.

The VW Polo for example might seem bland to some but its more conservative profile and more level beltline translates better into a sedan (VW also stretched the wheelbase slightly), this explains why it doesn't look stubby.

Seeing how the beltline of the new Fiesta is almost the same as the old one, there's a chance the next sedan's profile won't look too different from the outgoing model.

Chop is basically a mix of the new Fiesta and Chinese Escort.

Re: All New Fiesta

Finally, something new Fiesta-related.
...but the fact that there's still no word on the non-Euro model is worrying me.

@2b2, I sat in the current/outgoing Fiesta and EcoSport in the showroom again to refresh my memory about their passenger spaces, I was reminded at how much tighter the Fiesta is (specially at the rear) compared to other subcompacts. lol (I still like the Fiesta even if its small inside)
If the tight rear passenger space of the Fiesta impresses you, you'd be very impressed at the much roomier rear passenger space of the EcoSport.

Re: All New Fiesta

I just hope it's not the same POS that they've been selling. 2 family members have them, and both have been lots of trouble. (2011 & 2012)

2011 & 2012, those are the older pre-facelift models. If it's PowerShift related, it seems they already fixed the issue. Ford seems to be moving away from PowerShifts too.

The Powersift is the only issue I'm aware of with this cars. Unfortunately I have the same issue with the 2012 Focus which is going in Wednesday to have its clutches replaced again. That being said I'm pretty sure they are going away from that awful transmission to likely a more conventional automatic.
