Re: All New Fiesta ...now including Fiesta ST

@2b2 this is how I would have designed the Fiesta.
Less wedge-like, A-pillars pushed back, shorter overhangs and a longer wheelbase.

Actual 2018 Fiesta & outgoing 2017 Fiesta for comparison...

The new Fiesta is a good example of how you spend a fortune making a new car look like the old car.

I actually thought they saved a fortune by reskinning the outgoing model.

Re: All New Fiesta ...now including Fiesta ST

Interesting spy photos from earlier this year. It's supposedly the new 2018 Fiesta for Brazil which appears to be the current-outgoing model with a new front grafted on and a modified rear.

...thank you Mark Fields?

I have been saying that the Americas are likely retain the old Fiesta but with a Facelift, unless like the Focus the US gets an import from China.

That's if Ford plans to build the Fiesta in China again.
Ford no longer builds Fiestas in China and India.

Re: All New Fiesta ...now including Fiesta ST

It's also quite possible that Ford simply can't afford to Globalize the new Fiesta and will have to coast on the older model while it figures out what to do next. We are seeing this now with Focus and Ford's diminishing financial outlook prompting some big expenditure cuts and the chaotic factory shuffling happening within months of each other. It's a company that is essentially in the middle of a restructuring so the process is going to slow down some of their existing plans as they cut and re-evaluate their business instead of just plowing ahead with OneFord as it was.

How is it Ford can't afford to globalize the 2018 Fiesta which is essentially a reskin of the current-outgoing model.

Newer styling + ditching the PowerShift DCT should help sales.

Ford just moved Focus to China to save money on the retooling costs. We are still talking about a complete factory overhaul to produce the new Fiesta.
