Glass half full in this case, imo.
With Fields gone, that is very possible that ineptness has left the building

It's ridiculous that this hasn't hit the US market yet. If they wait til LA for a US debut I will be shocked.

Do you mean the Fiesta or EcoSport, Gjrip? &
by "hitting the market" mean On-Sale? ...cuz the Fiesta has JUST started arriving at Yurpland dealers,
judging by pix on fb
+ the Fiesta Job1 date proves the 2018my won't be the new one for us/U.S

Re: All New Fiesta ...now including Fiesta ST

I was referring to both actually, in their respective threads.

Fiesta and Ecosport need to be in the US immediately. @2b2.

Re: All New Fiesta ...now including Fiesta ST

Interesting comment from Ford Australia's President when asked about the next Fiesta in his market. This was asked in June.

CarAdvice June 21, 2017, spoke with Graeme Whickman, president and CEO of Ford Australia at the updated Ford Transit Custom launch this week, where the question of the Fiesta’s fate was raised.

“My comment on that is that we haven’t even got to a stage where we’re happy to talk about the next product incarnation, so speculation will always be out there, but we haven’t come out and said anything at this point,” Whickman said.

Sounds a little frustrated IMO

Re: All New Fiesta ...now including Fiesta ST

Does it look like the better refresh will only be in the European markets? Maybe that would indicate that a new platform will arrive in a couple years, and the rest of the world will have to settle for the current Fiesta until then.

then again, it's possible he was replaced by another Mulally....ready to cut-cut-cut his way to higher profits and share price.

Re: All New Fiesta ...now including Fiesta ST

Smartest thing the new guy did was delegate the car biz to Farley and Hinrichs. I am hopeful those two can sort this mess out a little as far as products outside of the F150 and Mustang :-)

But he is no Mulally.

Hard to tell, Alan Mulally cut cut cut for the company to avoid bankruptcy, the situation is different now.

Ford is not in trouble now but they will be if new global product launches continue to be slow/delayed/uncertain.
Good luck Jim Hackett, Jim Farley and Joe Hinrichs, don't disappoint us.

PS: Mark Fields was busy fantasizing about the world of tomorrow instead of focusing on the "improved" global products that need to be launched now (so there will actually be a Ford Motor Company in that world of tomorrow).
