Re: All About That Whitespace

Notice the line from the window to the trunk indicating a sportback-style opening.

I think Ford is just going to lift their sedans a few inches and call them something else.

Re: All About That Whitespace

If I were Ford, I'd have two variations of the Focus Active.

Active IV (my rendering)
Active V (the hatchback)

I can see an aftermarket industry specializing in lowering these "cars" to a more respectable height. That's just ugly. Aren't the wheels supposed to mirror the wheel arches?

Raising a car a few inches and calling it a CUV is the kind of el-cheapo solution that Ford is so prone to do (gotta keep the Wall St. analysts happy; "see, new product, no huge investment, love me, please?").

Sigh!

Re: All About That Whitespace

@glyphics It's just a quick rendering, but yes. I used the Focus Active tires, which were difficult to find at the same angle. I didn't want to use just any wheels from Google Images, most of which were aftermarket.

I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes reality in 2020 or 2021.

Aviator Coupe photoshop, or if lowered, MKZ A7-style.

I really don't like coupe style crossovers, but the Aviator based chop is far superior to the Nautilus version.
