Re: CD7(4+3) VS D6/CD6: best guesses

seeing posts about a side issue re: the 'penetration' of the 3.0EB
('course I expect 420-450hp)

1. Conti, first-half 2016
2. alumiNator, end2016/start2017
3,4. Aviator & LincStang, whenever
then
D6cD6-X ?

just don't see any need in the Z...
...I kinda pair sedans' engines with the next size smaller Cuv
so
could see a 2.7EB überC, or it's replacement

Mission crossreference

CD6 will do that. S550 wasn't ready on its own.

Ranger also won't be unibody. Ranger and F-150 will merge onto the same platform with Ranger being on a smaller version.

These moves will reduce the number of platforms by 2.

Re: CD7(4+3) VS D6/CD6: best guess

once again I saw something elsewhere

...made me think about how the CT6 has steel-not-aluminum for like-the-bed of the passenger compartment so noise isn't transmitted

now I ask: doesn't that seem halfway to a frame?
with unibody additions fore & aft?
and
if Cadillac wanted to build a CT-pickup, maybe they could extend the steel all the way back?

can't get the idea outta my head that the Falcon/Ute-truck method is one of the Keys to cD6

"BOXSTER"

"Cayenne"/"X5" (5-Pass) and "X7" (7-Pass)
I think GM should bring back the Sky....

And it's expected that Ford would offer a 'sports car' off the new Focus platform.

would these 9 combos be enough? ...or suggestions...

I would Not consider ^that enough choice for Any Lincoln

With the next generation Taurus a question mark for North America, I'm not sure what might happen if it does get the green light. Word on the floor here at FRAP is that they want to bring in 4 cars on top of the Mustang for a total of 5.

There's a pesky rumor going around too saying that FRAP is losing the Fusion, but I'm not buying that one, though if the Continental ends up selling hotter than they predict, I can see them not including as many Fusions in the mix as they currently run.
I'm still wondering about a LongWlb Z 4 China
& if it could be built on China's ABB-Taurus's assemblyline...

...could kinda see FoMoCo giving importing both a try
since they'd be very low volume here
(while keeping the Interceptors on D3/4 @ Chicago)
(( imho they could be built here later
IF...
they dropped the regular-wlb CD4-Z(at least from BedRock) & IF
- the ABB-Taurus was liked
- its place of origin was Not )) :
MusStang
Conti
Lwlb-Z
ABB-Taurus
LincStang(s)

- - - - - - -

looked at 2014 sales + my speculations & came up with a low range of
195k-215k for those 5 models
= about 2 shifts
leaving a whole 'nother shift for sales increases

Re: CD7(4+3) VS D6/CD6: best guess> INSIDE SCOOP?

inspiration found @ BON:
front clip swap from the 1983-86 LTD onto a 1978-83 Fairmont Futura Coupe

Re: CD7(4+3) VS D6/CD6: best guess> INSIDE SCOOP?

From the death of the LTD II in 1979 to the Taurus in 1986, Ford really had no mid size car. The Fox body Fairmont/Granada/LTD was much smaller and less roomy than GM's A bodies of that era. With both the Falcon platform and the Fox platform, Ford really was good at building derivatives off the same platform. This is one of my favorite articles - http://www.curbsideclassic.com/autom...th-variations/

so
the idea is that there'll be 2 (TWO) ((or 3 (THREE?))) pickups smaller than the current F-150 eventually
the ? is
could the F-150 itself drop in size and be one of those?
(with an ultralite SuperDuty taking (part of) the place of the current F-150?)
I'd expect a Suv of some kind on Each/Every one of them!

F-150 / Raptor / .....
F-100-Ranger/Bronco-Territory?/ ...
F-50-Courier/ ?-Troller/ ?-UteStang?

IF the T7-RotWRanger is on the same (eventual) platform as the F-"150",
thinking the actual size range in today's numbers might be F-90-to-F-140
