How are you getting 13?

Technically Focus is not being dropped, although it's still possible Focus Active will be cancelled.

And furthermore, it sounds like Fusion ultimately won't be dropped (vehicle form will change, but they're going to use the name).

Re: 9 New Nameplates by 2023

The Fusion name will be put on hiatus at least for a few years since the "Fusion Active" crossover is 2022/2023. It's related to the NG Mondeo but has a completely unique Crossover (CX) code so it's not a Mondeo Estate. I actually have no confirmation Fusion will be reused but it's certainly possible.

That CX crossover related with the next Mondeo could be the S-Max/Galaxie people movers replacement. Both vehicles are right now at the top of the European Ford line up. Ford needs to replace them with a crossover.

Re: 9 New Nameplates by 2023

So I drove the 1.0L and 2.0L EcoSport quite thoroughly recently, and I have to say.....I can't decide which I hated most.

Is it me and my complete disdain for vehicles this small? Not horrible overall, but the right motor could do wonders.

Just going down the list on the Ford website. Click on cars(-5), then SUVs(-1), Hybrids EVs (-4), Performance vehicles (-3). It's very doubtful that Focus Active will make it to NA with a 25% tax on it. And if Ford tried to absorb that 25% the lose the profit margin calling it an SUV could offer.
