Re: 2019 Detroit Auto Show

Since Lincoln has a "travel" or "journey" theme with all their new names, do you think they might revive the old Mercury Mariner name? I honestly think it would be a good move. Not that many people outside of us enthusiasts even remember the Mercury Mariner, so I don't think it would be an image issue.

Lincoln Mariner for some sort of CUV?

I agree it's a perfect name, but they've worked hard to separate themselves from the tarted up Ford image, so I think by extension they should stay away from Mercury names.

Current Vehicles:
2009 Ford Flex Limited w/ AWD
Light Ice Blue/White Suede Roof | Med. Lt. Stone Interior | Vista Roof
2018 Ford Mustang GT Convertible
Lightning Blue | Black Top | Black Interior

I don't think it'd be an issue anymore because Lincoln has truly differentiated products now and Mercury has been gone long enough. If the worst they can say is a car's name is reminiscent of a past Mercury then you're on the right path!
glyphics and badhac like this.

Re: 2019 Detroit Auto Show

Speaking of Lincoln I thought we’d have pricing on the Aviator; let me guess in typical Ford fashion they’ll put out pricing for the Ford that debuted later, first.
