Re: Ford & VW Alliance

So the next Ranger will share platforms with a VW mid sized truck, provided by Ford of course.

If they flatten the curve some they could resurrect the Pinto name, now that the Bronco, Maverick, and Mustang are all present and accounted for!

I think it's more than just the platform. I think the next VW Amarok will pretty much be a Ford (even engines?) It's good to know Ford is developing the next Ranger.

Interesting how carmakers will be switching up partners when it comes to developing next gen mid-size pickups.

The next VW Amarok will take the place of the current Ranger T6-based Mazda BT-50 as the next Ford-based mid-size pickup.

The next gen Mazda pickup will be partnered with the next Isuzu D-Max (current one was developed with GM).

Will this leave GM with no mid-size pickup partner?
